You had divorced Erling quite some time ago, and you already have a separate family with your new partner and your five-year-old son Derek, whom you had with Erling.

The separation was difficult for your child since he was always very attached to his father Erling; they hadn't even broken up for anything serious, it was simply because their jobs left them with less and less time and that caused the relationship to begin to drift apart, leading to the divorce agreement.

It was a weekend afternoon, you had taken Derek to see his father, as you did every weekend. Luckily, you and Erling get along well despite the divorce, but there was something Erling had already noticed: your bad relationship with your current partner, but you never wanted to talk about it.

On Monday, Erling messaged you to meet at the park. You found it strange since he never asked to talk unless it was important. While you were there talking to him, your son Derek was playing with the other children on the playground.

─ Listen, you know perfectly well that I don't interfere in your life and I don't give a damn what you do or don't do with your idiot boyfriend, but yesterday while I was bathing Derek for his nap I found a bruise on his arm and it just so happens that you've been fighting with that guy lately.

You froze when you heard what Erling was saying, you turned around to see Derek still playing, before Erling continued speaking.

— I gave you full custody of Derek and all I asked was that you let me see him on weekends, but if you let that idiot lay a hand on the boy again, I swear on everything you hold dear that I will take custody away from you and I won't let you see him again. I won't let my son suffer over romantic issues that you should know how to resolve.

Erling let out a heavy sigh. He knew he was being very harsh with you and that he didn't know the whole story, but it was his strange way of showing you that you still mattered to him.
