It was 1419, during the Joseon Dynasty. Namjoon was an alchemist at the imperial palace. To Namjoon's surprise, when he first became an alchemist, it turned out to be a calm profession: he spent most of his time in scrolls and his thoughts, and the emperor rarely pulled him on any missions.
