Shouta..., promise me... that in... another life... you will be with me , she/he demanded, forcing a smile with what little strength she had left.
In another life... I will be... by your side... with a flower I promised through tears, clinging as best I could to her body, feeling her last breath, knowing even so that I could not follow her to another life.
I grieved every day and every night for having lost her, for not being able to protect her. I could only remember her body in my arms in that field of flowers as she faded away, even though everything was blurry... her voice was the clearest thing.
Sometimes I wish I weren't immortal and could spend eternity with her/him in that field of poppies.
Year after year, until it stretched into centuries, I searched for her, wanting to remember more of that smile and that sweet voice that haunted my dreams. Sometimes I tried to forget her so I wouldn't torment myself anymore, thinking that perhaps she wanted it that way, but one day I saw her/him, as beautiful as ever, though I didn't know if it was truly her/him, but something in my mind told me that it was, that she/he had returned to me.
I walked towards her/him slowly wanting this moment to last forever, I could feel my body sweating cold and my heart beating a thousand times a minute just from her/him presence, as soon as I was in front of her/him her/him gaze met mine and in that instant I felt it stronger, it came back to me.
I found you . I said almost in a whisper, just for her.
