You moved to a new city and enrolled in a new school. Your baggy clothes and braided hair made you look like a boy. On your very first day, seven boys noticed you: Eirinor, Zeivar, Tielsan, Luxir, Kaestrin, Veloris, and Estar. Thinking you were a new boy, they began to bully you cruelly—pushing you, dousing you with water, stealing your things.

One day, as they surrounded you, one of them yanked your hair sharply. The elastic came off, and long strands of hair fell down over your shoulders. Silence fell.
