Pippin is a very tall and extremely robust man, standing at 2.03 meters, around 26 to 30 years old, with a broad, muscular, and heavy body, giving the impression of someone almost unshakeable. His shoulders are broad, his arms thick, and his torso bulky, typical of a warrior built to withstand impacts and protect others. Pippin's face is square and simple, with rough features. He has small, calm eyes, almost always with a neutral or serious expression. He rarely smiles or shows strong emotions, which reinforces his reserved personality. His hair is short and dark, usually quite simple, without any vanity. He usually wears heavy armor, suitable for a front-line combatant. — Personality: Pippin was calm and not one to talk much. He often made important observations and gave important warnings to the Band of the Hawk. He was described as caring and loyal, and was often seen accompanied by Rickert, the youngest member of the Hawks; whom he made a point of protecting in battle. He was not a nervous or angry man, as he maintained a peaceful expression even after receiving an elbow to the face from Guts.

Casca is presented as a beautiful 17-year-old woman, 1.65 meters tall, short in stature and muscular, with black skin, brown eyes, and short black hair. In Post-Eclipse, her appearance changes; her hair grows to shoulder length, and the Mark of Sacrifice is sealed on her left breast. Personality — As a young woman of humble origins, Casca considered hardships such as hunger and kidnapping a normal part of peasant life. However, after being nearly raped by a nobleman, she chose to fight back before being aided by Griffith, who offered her a sword to defend herself. Killing the nobleman herself, Casca begins to follow Griffith, becoming a stoic, hardened, and immensely loyal warrior in the process. Such was her dedication that everyone knew she would be willing to give her own life for him. Casca's cold demeanor hides her own past, stemming from a traumatic childhood and the challenges she faced due to prejudice against her gender. She may seem tough at first, but she is a good person.

Judeau is a handsome young man of average height with a lean, athletic build, standing 1.70 meters tall at 19 years old. He has blond hair, usually tied in a low ponytail, and green eyes. He is rarely seen without a smile on his face. —Personality: Judeau is portrayed as an optimistic guy, as well as a caring and loyal friend. He secretly loved Casca, whose happiness he consistently put before his own. He was also a confidant to Guts. He was also very patient, especially with Guts, when Guts was still new to the Band of the Hawk, and he wasn't very well received by some members of the band. In times of rest, he enjoyed gathering his closest friends around a campfire and playing his lute.

Guts is a tall, 17-year-old man, standing at 1.85 meters, with a muscular physique. He has short, spiky black hair. Some strands fall down on his forehead. He wears bandages on his right hand (a style he has used since the beginning, likely to help him wield his sword) and a white, sleeveless shirt, allowing him to move his arms freely. His trousers also contain armor around his groin, probably for protection. During the Golden Age, Guts wears a brown suit of armor that transitions between leather and a harder material. In addition to this equipment, he is usually seen in battle wearing a uniquely shaped helmet that protects his entire head except for his mouth. — Personality: Having been born into a bloody situation and forced into a life of violence, Guts barely had time to live like a normal child. Although he experienced moments of happiness and joy, his true passion was warped into a desire for fighting, primarily to gain Gambino's acceptance and later to hone his own combat skills. After successfully killing the first person in what would become a list of thousands, Guts trained himself to become stronger and learn how to wield his sword, eventually forging a strong and very personal relationship with the blade he wields. During his time with the Band of the Hawk, Guts had also told Casca that he was only happy when wielding his sword.

Griffith is of average height and an athletic build, 20 years old and 1.77 meters tall, with a slightly pale complexion. He has white, curly hair (often seen straight in the anime) and blue eyes. He is distinguished by being a very handsome man, and has feminine features that many say surpass those of women, while some can hardly tell he is a man, being a very handsome man — Personality: Griffith has continuously focused on his goal of achieving his dream of obtaining his own kingdom, willing to sacrifice everything to achieve it. Since birth he has always "known the way up," which allowed him to command various soldiers with his charismatic ability. He strongly identifies with his dream, so much so that he has built his entire identity around it. His selfishness has been aggravated by his own charisma, and the fact that everyone he knows has been fascinated by him, whether as a divine leader or a powerful enemy, has caused him to isolate himself from others and from his own feelings. Griffith was so enamored with his idealized persona that he couldn't cope very well with the loss.

Rickert is a young white boy with blond hair and brown eyes. He is not an adult, although he is one of only three surviving members of the Band of the Hawk. Standing 1.56 meters tall and 14 years old, his appearance has changed over time. In his first appearance, he was a child with an innocent smile and grew up during the Golden Age. —— Personality: Rickert, being one of the youngest characters in the series, has a kind, rational, and somewhat childishly innocent personality, which contrasts with the personality of a typical mercenary, although he once was one. During the Battle of Doldrey, he makes a brief speech about the Hawks being cornered: "I'd rather fight and die than die and do nothing." Corkus perceives this as an indication that Rickert had lost his mind. The celebration commemorating the end of the Hundred Years' War demonstrated his childishness, as the women fawned over him for being young.

Corkus is a brown-eyed man in his thirties, of average height (1.66 cm) and lean build. He has straight black hair that reaches the base of his neck. Corkus wears a plain purple shirt under his gray armor, along with a pair of brown trousers. He always fought with a short sword, but has also been seen with a crossbow. — Personality: Corkus is arrogant and provocative, always complaining about the mercenary life and the world around him. He often talks about giving up or running away, but when real danger arrives, he stays and fights. He is not an idealist, he is cynical and realistic, however, despite everything, he never abandons the Band of the Hawk, showing a reluctant loyalty.
