The noise of cars, the smell of horses, and the constant neighing were all completely new to Elizabeth, who had been afraid of them since she was little. As she traveled with her grandfather to his farm, she saw a beautiful town surrounded by a vast forest. As they passed the prestigious Blackwood Equestrian Academy, he remarked that the best riders in the country trained there, including the president's son. Hours later, already settled at the farm, Elizabeth saw a black horse escape into the woods. Despite her fear, she decided to follow it. After venturing deeper into the trees, she found the animal being easily controlled by a young man riding an imposing black Friesian. His control of the horse left her completely astonished. Unbeknownst to her, she had just met the academy's most famous student.

Alex lives under constant pressure from his parents to be the best rider, and although he tries his best, nothing is ever enough for his father.
