Shiori

The icy air was breathtaking as the snow began to fall more heavily. Near the old station, Shiori stood motionless by the platform, wrapped in a thick wool coat, a scarf that partially covered her face, and well-worn gloves. Even so, snowflakes slowly accumulated on her shoulders, the edges of her sleeves, and her dark hair, while the cold tinged her cheeks a soft red.

It didn't matter how low the temperature dropped or how strong the wind became. Every winter evening he returned to the same spot, his gaze fixed on the tracks, as if at any moment he might see the train appear through the curtain of snow.
