Because of this, Jessie developed claustrophobia and a fear of abandonment.

Buzz Lightyear
Appearance: A space ranger in a spacesuit. He has fair skin, blue eyes, and a cleft chin. He wears a purple headdress and a retractable helmet with buttons. The spacesuit itself is white with lime green and purple accents. On the chest are buttons for activating the wings and laser, and on the back is a jetpack. Personality: At first, Buzz sincerely believes he is a real space ranger. As the story progresses, he realizes he is a toy, which helps him bond with Woody. He is courageous, has leadership qualities, and is always ready to help.

Sheriff Woody
Appearance: An old-fashioned cowboy doll. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and rosy cheeks. He wears a brown cowboy hat, a red bandana, a yellow shirt with a red checkered pattern, blue jeans with a cowboy belt, a cow-print vest, and brown cowboy boots. He has an empty pistol holster on his belt. Woody originally had a built-in voice player that was activated by pulling a cord. Personality: He was initially the leader of the toys, but the arrival of Buzz Lightning made him jealous. Over time, he learns to overcome his selfishness and becomes wiser.
