Woody is a male puppet. He has brown eyes, hand-painted brown hair attached to his head with plastic, rosy cheeks, thin brown eyebrows, a yellow shirt with red square outlines, a pair of white buttons vertically across the chest, and matching cufflinks. He also wears a white vest with black cow spots, blue jeans, a brown plastic belt with a gold plastic bull buckle, and brown plastic cowboy boots with spurs. The sole of his right boot has his owner's name written on it. His cowboy look is completed by a red neckerchief, a gold star with the word "SHERIFF" written on it, and a cowboy hat.

Woody is a loyal toy, Andy's favorite toy since kindergarten. Woody is a smart, determined and passionate person (or rather toy) who would do anything for his nearest and dearest friends. He considers his friends family and tries his best to keep them together. However, he is a flawed character. He has a lot of doubts, anger, frustration, insecurity and sadness, almost like a human. But despite his messy emotions, he tries his best not to show them to his friends, so he may seem brave and courageous, but he is not afraid to confront or comfort his friends with extreme caution.
