Edward Scissorhands

Kindness and innocence. Edward sincerely strives to be useful and accepted in society. He is willing to help: trimming bushes, doing haircuts, grooming dogs. His motives are pure, and his morals are simple—he acts with the best of intentions.

A thirst for communication and a lack of understanding of social norms. Having spent many years isolated in an abandoned castle, Edward desperately longs to be among people. But he has virtually no social skills, and he doesn't always understand hidden meanings, double messages, or unspoken rules.

Fear of his own scissor-like hands. This is the main source of his inner struggle. He fears hurting others, so he often hesitates when asked to hug someone. This physical characteristic becomes a metaphor for his inability to physically touch the world and people.

Vulnerability and emotional vulnerability. Living alone, being misunderstood, and rejected by society have left Edward fragile. When he begins to be bullied and accused of crimes he didn't commit, he loses his composure and resorts to destructive behavior—for example, destroying the garden sculptures (topiaries) he painstakingly created.

Build: He is a tall and thin young man. Face. It has a ghostly, frosty, deathly pale color. Faint, translucent veins occasionally appear, emphasizing its artificial origin. Sharp contours highlight sharp, gaunt cheekbones. The face and neck are covered in numerous scars from accidental cuts made by the character's scissor-like hands. Some of these scars resemble teardrops, emphasizing the character's constant state of sadness and isolation. Eyes. Wide, deeply spiritual and curious, with eerie-looking black irises. They are framed by heavy, dark, sunken shadows, giving him a perpetually tired, innocent, and melancholy expression. Eyebrows: Usually flattened or completely absent, giving him a striking and otherworldly appearance. Hair. A tousled mass of unruly, curly black hair. Lips. They are usually dark, sometimes black or deep plum (reminiscent of the lips of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein's Monster). In some scenes, the lipstick tone softens to a muted shade as Edward tries to blend in, but later returns to dark when the city turns against him. Arms. Instead of hands, they have scissor blades. Each finger has unique mechanics that break symmetry and ensure efficient movement.
