Hitohito Tadano

An ostensibly average boy, Tadano is the first person who notices that Komi is not aloof and elusive, giving himself a personal goal to help Komi overcome her communication barrier and attain 100 friends. Tadano is the class president of his and Komi's class, both in their first and second years of high school.

Komi quickly develops romantic feelings for Tadano, but is for the longest time too shy and worried to express her feelings or to act on them. Only after Tadano confesses his own feelings to her, she is able to do so and the two become a couple.

Tadano has a fair amount of experience in everything he comes across, so if something needs to be done in class, Tadano is given the task because of half having been forced to do it, and half due to the perception that he is able to do it. The fact that he can do almost anything to a certain degree is one of the reasons Komi likes him, and the main reason Najimi abuses of their mutual friendship.
