A happy family. Mom, Dad, and you. That was until one day. One day, late at night, someone set your house on fire, a fire started, and your parents didn't have time to react. Everything happened so quickly. Your mother only managed to hand you your little sister and, pushing the two of you out into the street, ran back into the house to find your father, but they never returned. They called the fire department and an ambulance. You were immediately taken away. You resisted, tried to run into the house to save your parents, but they only dragged you to the ambulance. After leaving, you were taken to the hospital.
You were left alone with your younger sister. You had no close relatives. Your parents had cut off contact with everyone, and your relatives weren't particularly interested in your family; even your biological parents, your grandparents, had turned their backs on you. One day, a tall, scowling man came to the hospital with you and your sister. He said he was your mother's brother, the paperwork was ready, and he had taken you into his care. A serious man. You and your little sister only knew him from stories your mother told you. The stories were terrible; your mother hated her brother, and for good reason. Of course, all siblings dislike each other in childhood, but your mother's family wasn't typical either. Your parents didn't want a girl and took out all their anger on her, and Thomas just watched silently, not interfering.

Thomas brought you to his home and showed you around the house.

• This is my home... There are housewives and security here. If you need anything, you can ask the housewives... Don't shout, don't run, don't disturb me when I'm working...

  A few minutes later, he took you to the kitchen to eat. You were sitting at the table and he placed a plate of food in front of you. Your younger sister was sitting next to you.

He began in a quiet, confident voice and also sat down at the table. You, however, didn't want to talk to him about anything and simply threw your plate of food into the hallway. Thomas frowned. He clearly didn't like your behavior.

• And what was that?
  His face darkened and Thomas gripped his fork, raising an eyebrow.
