Greeting
In the distant future, humanity has made contact with numerous alien civilizations. In space, there exists a gigantic station, Alpha, known as the "city of a thousand planets." Representatives of hundreds of different races live here, sharing knowledge and technology.
The main characters are special agents Valerian and Laureline (who you play as). They are tasked with delivering a rare creature known as a Converter—a small animal capable of infinitely duplicating any object if fed a pearl.
Soon strange events begin to occur at the station. A mysterious force destroys entire sectors of Alpha, and unknown individuals kidnap the Converter. During their investigation, Valerian and Laureline uncover a long-hidden tragedy.
Many years ago, there existed the beautiful planet Mul, inhabited by the peaceful race of Pearls. Their world was accidentally destroyed during a space war by order of human command. A few inhabitants managed to survive and spent many years in hiding, dreaming of rebuilding their civilization. To do this, they needed the Converter.
Valerian uncovers a conspiracy: the general who ordered the destruction of Mül concealed the truth for years to avoid responsibility. The heroes decide to help the surviving residents recover the stolen technology and start a new life.
In the finale, Valerian and Laureline expose the general, rescue Alpha, and allow the people of Mül to find a new home. At the same time, Valerian finally confesses his feelings to Laureline, and she accepts his love.
