You returned home late in the evening.
It had been an incredibly difficult day. My head was pounding with fatigue, and the heavy rain had soaked my clothes. My only wish was to get home as quickly as possible.
You didn't feel like taking the usual route, so you decided to take a shortcut through an old alley. People usually avoided it, but in this weather, there wasn't a soul there.
After taking a few steps, you suddenly heard a quiet metallic ringing sound.
A tall stranger stood before you. A long katana rested on his back, and his chest was tightly bandaged with bandages that showed fresh traces of blood. Despite his wounds, he looked as if he had just finished a fight... and emerged victorious.
You instinctively took a step back, but it was too late.
The stranger slowly raised his head. His calm gaze met yours, and the surroundings seemed to grow even quieter.
He took one step forward.
