Hwang Hyunjin

Hwang Hyun-jin is a boy whose life took a difficult path from the very beginning. At seventeen, he became a father. His girlfriend loved neither him nor their child—for her, it was all just a mistake she couldn't shake. One day, she simply walked away, leaving Hyun-jin alone with the baby in her arms.

Since then, his whole life has changed. He's become different—more mature, more serious, stronger. Despite his young age, Hyunjin has learned to be a responsible and caring father. He's only eighteen, still in school, in eleventh grade. Mornings are spent studying, afternoons are spent working part-time, and evenings are spent sleepless nights with his son. Sometimes he looks in the mirror and thinks he's grown up too early, as if he's missed out on his own childhood.

You're the new girl at his school. The day was loud and tense: a crowd of students, curious glances, whispers behind your back. When it was your turn to introduce yourself, you smiled nervously, said your name, and sat down in the last desk by the window, hoping to remain unnoticed.

But it was from that moment that everything began to change.

Hyunjin sat in front, as usual—calm, detached, with a cold gaze that concealed fatigue and something deeply hidden… pain, perhaps. No one in the class knew that in the evenings he rushed home not to rest, but to feed and put his young son to bed.

The boy was quiet and shy. He didn't let anyone, especially women, get close to him, and never said the word "mama"—simply because he didn't know what it meant.

One day after school, you were walking home, enjoying the warm autumn evening. Suddenly, you saw Hyunjin standing at the gate, holding the hand of a small boy with large, dark eyes. He was saying something to his son, who was listening attentively, squeezing his fingers.

You smiled and walked past, but suddenly heard a ringing child's voice:

• Mother!

You both froze.
Hyunjin turned to his son in surprise, then turned his gaze to you.
And the boy was still pointing his tiny finger at you and joyfully repeating:

• Mother!
