Everything seemed to be going well until an accident left them bankrupt. Aoi died in a fire that left his café unusable for years until Nino and Miku Nakano took it over to open their own business.

Jinnosuke Mudo (Mudō Jinnosuke, ?) is the ex-husband of the late Rena Nakano and the biological father of the Nakano Quintuplets.

Appearance: Mudou appears to be an old man; his most apparent feature is his lack of hair on his head and his long, white beard, which is approximately 60 years old.

Personality: Little is known about him; however, it can be inferred that he has great self-confidence and a certain ability to attract or manipulate people, given that he managed to marry Rena, defeating many other men who courted her because of her beauty. However, this was merely a facade, as he didn't hesitate to flee his responsibilities when he learned he would be the father of five daughters, abandoning his wife to her fate without any explanation. Despite this, and perhaps due to the passage of time, he seems to have regretted his decision to leave his daughters behind without offering them any help, even after Rena's death, and now seeks to "atone" for his sins.

He harbors some animosity towards Maruo Nakano for allowing the quintuplets to follow the same misguided path as his late wife.

Relations Rena Nakano: Little is known about his relationship with Rena, other than that, like everyone else, Mudou was captivated by her beauty. It is understood then that, unlike Rena, Mudou was never truly in love with her, only with her appearance, so he had no qualms about abandoning her to her fate when he found out that she was going to have quintuplets.

Later, Rena herself would deeply regret having married Mudou, a feeling she passed on to her daughters by warning them countless times about how they should choose their partner.

Story: Appears near the end of high school during the school festival. History: Graduated with honors from college and successfully entered the professional world. Although his role in Fuutarou's life was short, it was the perfect reminder of how much he had changed since his childhood. She does not directly attend the wedding as part of the inner circle, but it is inferred that she continues her life as a brilliant and fulfilled woman in her field of work.

1. Introductory Arc What it's about: Fuutarou Uesugi, a bright student but in abject poverty, takes the job of tutoring millionaire Maruo Nakano's five newly transferred daughters.

Most importantly:

Fuutarou discovers that his students are identical quintuplets and that they all hate studying, being on the verge of expulsion.

3. Arc of Midterm Exams What it's about: The first exams of the school arrive. Maruo Nakano puts an ultimatum on Fuutarou: if any of the five fail, he will be fired immediately.

Nino actively sabotages the study sessions and locks up the others.

The Sacrifice: The five end up failing the exam anyway, but Nino lies to his stepfather by showing him a sheet of paper combined with everyone's passing grades, saving Fuutarou's work. Seeing his effort, the sisters begin to legitimately accept him as their guardian.

4. School Camp Arc / Legend Trip What it's about: The school organizes a camp in nature. There is a myth that the couple who dance together in front of the campfire at the end of the trip will be together forever.

Identities: Fuutarou disguises himself as a blond delinquent ("Kintaro") to interact with Nino, who falls madly in love with this alter ego without knowing that he is his annoying tutor.

Identity conflicts: Ichika begins to develop feelings for Fuutarou, while Miku actively tries to dance with him. In the end, due to an extreme fever, Fuutarou collapses in the snow and ends up holding hands with the five sisters at once by the campfire, "fulfilling" the myth in a shared way.

5. Arco de los Siete Choncos / El Pasado What it's about: One of the longest and most dramatic arcs. After the holidays, tensions explode: Nino and Itsuki have a massive fight that causes them both to run away from home. At the same time, Yotsuba is exhausted helping the athletics club.

The most important thing:

Appearance of "Rena": A girl identical to the girl Fuutarou met in Kyoto appears before him in the lake under the name of "Rena". She tells him that he must leave the past behind to move forward and says goodbye to him forever (it is later revealed that it was Itsuki acting under the orders of another sister).

Nino's Change: Fuutarou reveals the truth about "Kintaro" to Nino. After a massive reconciliation in the rain, Nino cuts his hair, breaking with his past, accepts the change of the group and returns to the house with his sisters. Fuutarou, overwhelmed by stress, decides to resign from his position as tutor so as not to further damage the health of the group.

6. New Year's Arc and the Final Exam What it's about: At the start of the new year, the quintuplets move together into a modest apartment paid for by Ichika to prove their independence and force Fuutarou to return as their personal tutor, funded by themselves.

The most important thing:

Nino's confession: In one of the most famous scenes, Nino directly confesses his love to Fuutarou while riding a motorcycle. Seeing that he did not hear her well because of the wind, she repeats it looking him in the eyes, breaking the traditional schemes of anime.

Academic success: Under pressure not to let Fuutarou down, all five quintuplets manage to study to the fullest and for the first time pass all subjects in the final end-of-year exams.

7. Scrambled Eggs Arch / Hot Springs Trip What it's about: To celebrate their notes, the quintuplets' grandfather invites them to a hot spring hotel. Fuutarou and his family go to the same place. Grandpa forces them to dress exactly the same (in Itsuki's look) to test if Fuutarou can tell them apart through "love".

The most important thing:

The mystery of the "Fake Itsuki": Someone disguised as Itsuki asks Fuutarou to end the relationship of tutor and students, generating a mystery about who wants to get away from him.

The Leap of Faith: After studying her mannerisms and habits, Fuutarou is able to identify Miku solely by the way she walks and talks, proving that her bond with them is no longer superficial.

At the end of the arc, under the hotel's oath bell, Fuutarou stumbles and one of the quintuplets secretly kisses him before fleeing. The narrator reveals that this was the first kiss with which he would become his future wife.

8. New Semester Arc / The War of the Quintuplets What it's about: The third year of high school begins and all five end up in the same classroom as Fuutarou. The graduation school trip to Kyoto becomes the ultimate battleground for the love of the protagonist.

Ichika's downfall: Desperate for Nino and Miku's advance, Ichika disguises herself as Miku to tell Fuutarou that "Miku is okay with Ichika going out with him." This sabotage breaks the trust of her sisters and creates massive drama when the trap is discovered.

Reconciliation and Kyoto: Ichika deeply regrets her actions and apologizes. Miku finally summons up the courage and confesses her love to Fuutarou directly during the trip.

The Revelation of the Past: Yotsuba's complete past is revealed to the audience: she was the original girl from Kyoto. 9. Shingiku School Festival Arc What it's about: The climax arc of the series. During the three days of the school's cultural festival, side events occur from the perspective of each of the quintuplets. Fuutarou promises that, at the end of the festival, he will go to the room where the sister he has chosen is to confess his feelings to her.

Family healing: The Nakano sisters process the pain of rejection, but reaffirm their love for each other. Miku and Nino decide to open their own coffee shop together. Itsuki focuses on being a teacher. Ichika completely triumphs in international acting.

The Wedding: Five years later, Fuutarou and Yotsuba's wedding is celebrated. Before the ceremony, the five sisters play one last joke on her by dressing identical in the wedding dress. Fuutarou, demonstrating all his growth and the "love" he developed for the family, manages to correctly identify the five, saying goodbye to his role as guardian to formally become their family.
