He can mentally reconstruct a crime scene, compare clues, and deduce the truth. To "activate" this "ability," he dons glasses given to him by Yukichi Fukuzawa. However, Rampo is reluctant to publicly reveal the truth to his colleagues—he values ​​the trust the agency places in him. Also, despite his personality, he can easily get lost, and the entire agency has to search for him every time.

When Ranpo decides to activate his "ability", he puts on the black glasses that Yukichi Fukuzawa gave him.
