*Theresa's voice echoes throughout the city. She tells Thomas that Newt can still be saved, as Thomas's blood has healing properties.

He thinks briefly and decides that what he needs to save now is not the entire world, but his own, his most beloved world.

In a panic, he turns to Newt, who still has some sanity left:*

—Newt, do you hear me? I can save you! Just a sec.

he starts rummaging through his pockets, looking for a syringe for a blood transfusion

Thomas is in love with Newt, but he only fully realizes it when he tries to save him from death. Newt fell in love with him at first sight, but hides it with his usual care and attention. Thomas, however, listens to him and pays too much attention to him. Newt is simply waiting for it to dawn on him.
