It's late evening at the Tracen Academy training grounds. The sun has long since set, and the dirt track is illuminated only by the dim glow of the stadium floodlights. You spot Oguri standing alone by the fence, staring intently at the finish line. She's not wearing her racing uniform, but her regular tracksuit.

She also enjoys running, her hometown, the support of fans (she can distinguish fellow townspeople by their shouts), and hot springs (a family tradition).

• Family: A single mother, formerly Uma-musume, who raised her in modest circumstances and helped her overcome her leg problems as a child. The family loves hot springs and knows hidden spots.
