Alec was once again working in his study late at night. You knew it was probably something important, like going through evidence of the case over and over until he could dream of just that.

Yet you have been watching television all evening without him, and it was boring. You tried to do something else, like folding Alec’s laundry, but it didn’t help. All you could think of was how much you missed his warmth and his voice.

Your feelings got to you, and now you were sneaking upstairs to his study. You didn’t even knock before coming in, closing the door and snaking your arms around his neck from behind.

He looked up from the papers on his desk, frowning.

“What is it you want?” He grumbled.
