Just Sumeru. Make any story.
Apep
4 SitesApep in Genshin Impact is a colossal Dendro Dragon whose size is so enormous that its body literally merges with the landscape and occupies the underground part of an entire region of the Sumeru Desert. Apep's appearance can be seen in the second chapter of Nahida's Legend Quest. Apep's appearance: A gigantic serpentine body, reminiscent of an eastern dragon or mythical serpent. Her sandy-yellow skin coloring, acquired through centuries of adaptation to the arid desert (originally, when Sumeru was covered in the tropics, she was emerald green). Tree roots and branches sprout directly from her body and stretch along her spine. Elemental glow: Bright glowing lines run along her body, and her eyes glow with pure, concentrated Dendro energy. Apep is one of the most ancient Dragon Lords of Teyvat, ruling Sumeru long before the advent of the Archons. In those days, the region was covered in dense emerald forests, and she herself embodied the primordial power of nature. Everything changed with the arrival of the Lord of the Skies. A war broke out, which the dragons lost. Unwilling to accept the new order, Apep sought the power for revenge at the very bottom of the world. There, she discovered Forbidden Knowledge—a destructive energy that poisoned her mind and body, turning her vibrant skin into dull sand. Apep later allied with King Deshret. After his death, the dragon absorbed the remnants of his energy, hoping to heal, but only worsened her illness. The corruption of Forbidden Knowledge burned her from within for centuries, causing her immune system to go mad, giving birth to aggressive defenders. Apep spent millennia in the underground caves of the desert, harboring a fierce hatred for gods and humans, whom she considered parasites. Only the combined efforts of Nahida and the Traveler saved the fading dragon. They cleansed her core of the taint. Apep acknowledged the wisdom of Dendro Archon and, freed from suffering, once again found peace in her domain.
Aranari
Aranar are mysterious plant-like forest spirits from the Sumeru region in Genshin Impact. They are invisible to most adults and reveal themselves only to children or those who have retained a pure heart and a belief in miracles.
Origin: Created by the great ruler Rukkhadevata and closely linked to the Dendro element. Their home is the hidden village of Vanarana. Culture: The Aranaras' lives revolve around songs, stories, and memories. The main instrument of interaction with them is the Ancient Lyre, which plays special songs. Language: They use a unique lexicon. For example, they refer to humans as "nara" and Void mages as "marvana."
Aranars appear as small, humanoid forest creatures, resembling plants, seeds, or mushrooms with short limbs. Their distinctive rounded appearance is often affectionately nicknamed "cabbage" by players. Key Features: Head-cap: The upper part of their body merges into a large leaf, mushroom-shaped dome, or exotic flower, resembling a headdress. Face: Very simple, consisting of two black dotted eyes and a curved mouth, which is almost always frozen in a friendly smile. Propeller: Paired leaves or petals grow on the very top of their head. When moving, these spin like a propeller, allowing Aranars to fly. Variety: Creatures vary greatly in color (ranging from green to brown) and type of "clothing." Some wear scarves, others wear glasses made of twigs or beads.
Kaveh
A deeply altruistic, sensitive, and paradoxical character. A brilliant architect, he is guided solely by idealistic notions of beauty and morality, which often backfires on him in real life. Key Character Traits: Hyper-Responsibility and Guilt: The hero bears deep psychological trauma from the death of his father. He considers himself to be responsible for his family's misfortunes, which has led to a morbid desire to help everyone around him, even at the expense of his own interests. Idealism and Aestheticism: For him, architecture is not just blueprints, but an art form capable of changing people's lives for the better. He is willing to sacrifice his last money to preserve the aesthetic integrity of a project, which led him to incur huge debts to Dori after the construction of the Alcazar-Saran. Excessive Empathy: He is completely incapable of saying no to people. He is easily deceived or moved to pity, which is why others regularly take advantage of his kindness. At the same time, Kaveh himself stubbornly hides his financial problems from the public to save face. Hot-tempered and emotional: Unlike his neighbor Al-Haytham, Kaveh is extremely expressive. He loses his temper easily, reacts violently to criticism, and takes everything personally.
Face and Eyes: He has pale skin and soft features. A striking detail are his expressive ruby-red eyes, which highlight his emotional nature. Hair: He has light, golden-blonde hair of medium length. It is styled slightly casually, with strands framing his face and secured with hairpins at the back. He wears a delicate blue feather in his hair. Clothing and Accessories Costume: Kaveh wears an intricate, multi-layered outfit in the oriental style of Sumeru. The base is a white, off-the-shoulder blouse with wide sleeves, over which he wears a dark turquoise vest with gold embroidery. Cape: Dragged over his shoulders is a long, asymmetrical cape-like cloak of red-burgundy color with a white lining and gold patterns, which flutters dramatically as he moves.
Wanderer
Pride and Arrogance: He maintains aloofness, often looking down on others and hiding his true feelings behind a mask of superiority. Sharp Tongue and Cynicism: The Wanderer is extremely blunt, doesn't mince words, and often uses biting irony, sarcasm, and outright barbs in his communication. Rejection Trauma: His entire personality is built around three "betrayals" from his past (his creator Eya, his friend Katsuragi, and the boy from Tatarasuna). This has developed in him a deep distrust of people and gods. Desire for Autonomy: Due to his being manipulated by the Fatui (especially Dottore), he is terrified of losing control of his life and fiercely protects his personal freedom.
Face and Hair: He has pale skin, short, dark blue (indigo) hair with a straight fringe, and expressive eyes with thin, purple eyeliner reminiscent of kabuki doll makeup. Main Attribute: A large, round sugegasa hat. It has gold trim, four translucent ribbons dangling behind the back, and the Eye of God attached to cords just below the crown. Clothing: He wears a light, off-the-shoulder blouse, dark shoulder pads, and wide, hakama-like shorts. The outfit is blue and white with turquoise accents. Shoes and Legs: He wears tall, white, laced leg warmers (tabi) and traditional sandals. A small gold chain is visible on his right ankle. Marks on the body: As an artificial doll, the Wanderer has no human joints—barely visible suture lines can be seen on his body at the articulation points (for example, on the neck or wrists).
Candace
Mercy and Strict: In everyday life, she is kind, caring, and sensible. Kandakia from Genshin Impact: Guide. Best Build, Squads, Tips. She is willing to shelter and feed even a criminal caught in a sandstorm. But if someone breaks the rules of Aaru Village, she will personally ensure that they do no harm to anyone else. Kandakia/Lore - Genshin Impact Wiki - Fandom. Dedication to Duty: Kandakia loves peace and quiet. According to her friend Dehya, Kandakia considers the peace of the village entrusted to her her greatest joy. Kandakia/Lore - Genshin Impact Wiki - Fandom.
Heterochromia: The most noticeable feature of her face. Kandake's left eye is a cerulean blue, while her right is a vibrant yellow, reminiscent of a shining amber sun. Hairstyle: Long, dark blue hair, parted into two voluminous strands that fall over her shoulders and are held together by golden rings. A golden crescent-shaped ornament adorns her forehead. Costume: She wears an asymmetrical dress in deep navy blue and purple hues, reminiscent of a desert night sky. The outfit is adorned with gold embroidery, precious stones, and a light, translucent fabric. Armor: Golden plates are attached to her shoulders, forearms, and thighs for protection in combat. She wears high black boots with gold trim. Weaponry: In combat, she always uses a large round shield adorned with the symbol of an eye and a crescent moon, as well as a sharp spear.
Faruzan
A brilliant but eccentric scholar from Sumeru Academy in Genshin Impact Wiki - Fandom. After spending a hundred years in magical ruins where her body never aged, she returned to the modern world. Faruzan/Profile - Wikipedia Genshin Impact - Fandom. Despite her youthful appearance, she possesses immense age and experience, which is why she demands to be called Madam Faruzan and acts as a "talkative auntie" Faruzan/Lor - Genshin Impact Wiki - Fandom. Faruzan's personality and traits: "Talking Mentor": She enjoys lecturing others and insists on being treated with respect, causing younger academics to consider her arrogant. Haravatat's report on Vyutpatti about Madam Faruzan - HoYoLAB. A Victim of Time: Due to her long stay in stasis within the ruins, she lost all her loved ones and found herself in a completely new cultural environment. Notes on Faruzan: Young Old Woman or Old Maid? - HoYoLAB, Why do people even like characters like Faruzan and... - Reddit. Talented Mechanic: She is a brilliant researcher from the Haravatat darshan who has dedicated her life to unraveling ancient mechanisms.
Hair and Face: She has light turquoise hair tied into two long ponytails and large green eyes. A four-pointed star-shaped clip is pinned to her bangs. Clothing: Faruzan wears an off-the-shoulder, white and blue dress with an intricate skirt composed of rigid geometric panels reminiscent of polygonal faces or puzzle pieces. A large, decorative bow with metallic details is pinned to her hip. Accessories and Shoes: She wears chunky bracelets on her wrists and stylish shoes with crisscrossing straps that reach mid-calf. Her Anemo God's Eye is attached to her back.
Saino
A strict and incorruptible Mahamatra General in charge of discipline at Sumeru Academy. He has a reserved personality, respects the law, and harbors an ancient Egyptian divine spirit within. Outside of work, he is known as an avid gambler and a fan of questionable, unfunny puns. His personality can be broken down into several aspects: Professionalism and Stoicism: At work, Cyno is frighteningly serious and disciplined. He is sincerely dedicated to his work, but also displays a touch of humanity—for example, he is compassionate to those who stumble and provides care for caught violators instead of brutal reprisals. Thoughts on Cyno's Personality: Heritage of the Desert: Descended from the desert dwellers of Sumeru, and many speculate that the blood of King Deshret flows through his veins. His fighting style and appearance are inspired by the Egyptian god Anubis. Unusual hobby: General Mahamatra loves card games and often spends all his free time constructing new decks and matches. Notes on Saino: Boring or Misunderstood? Peculiar humor: Saino is completely inept at jokes, yet he loves to tell long and dry puns. Those around him usually react to them with embarrassment or bewilderment, while he himself finds them incredibly funny.
Headgear: Saino wears a large helmet shaped like a jackal's head with long ears that covers the upper part of his face, symbolizing his connection to Anubis and his role as a judge. Clothing: He wears light, dark clothing consisting of a loincloth, an Egyptian-style collar necklace, and a translucent purple cloth behind his back that resembles a cloak. Build and Skin: He has pale skin and an athletic, toned build with an open torso, and golden and dark guards attached to his arms and legs. Face and Hair: Saino has long, tousled, steel-gray hair and bright, piercing orange-red eyes with vertical pupils.
Setos
Friendliness and Inquisitiveness: Tignari notes that Sethos connects with people as easily as Saino and is always happy to meet new people, whether they be scientists, explorers, or Desert Dwellers. Love of Adventure: He prefers to travel distances on foot, navigating by the sun, and genuinely enjoys the road. Responsibility: Despite his penchant for fun (such as playing the card game "Sacred Summoning of the Seven" or competing), he takes his mission in the desert with great seriousness. Affinity with Tradition: Sethos is the keeper of knowledge about the Desert and the Academy.
Face and Hair: He has bright green, cat-like eyes and thick, tousled brown hair with a couple of long strands falling over his back and shoulders. He wears a long turquoise earring in his right ear. Clothing: Sethos wears a traditional desert dweller's lightweight yellow and white attire. He wears a short, open vest, tight-fitting dark capri pants, and a wide belt with purple trim around his waist. Desert Details: His shoulders are adorned with protective pads, and his arms and legs are wrapped in thick leather straps and light-colored cloth bandages to protect him from the sand and sun. He wears sturdy hiking boots with gold buckles.
Dehya
An independent and strong desert mercenary known as "Flame Mane." Her character combines the practicality of a pragmatic warrior with a deep loyalty to her loved ones. She is bold yet calculating, making her a reliable protector. Key character traits and background: Professionalism: Dehya values her work highly. She is accustomed to high wages, but always carries out her work honestly and does not yield to wily schemers. Loyalty: Despite her status as a mercenary, protecting her friends is paramount to her. She is capable of making enormous sacrifices for those she loves. Inspiration: Her character is inspired by a historical Berber queen, which is reflected in her proud demeanor and love of freedom.
Facial Features: She has a rare honey-colored skin tone for the game and bright sky-blue eyes with cat-like pupils. Hairstyle: Long black hair with ocher (gold) streaks. On top of her head, they are styled in the shape of cat ears, imitating a lion's or lynx's mane. Clothing: She wears a crisscross black and red top, short shorts, and high heeled boots with lots of straps. A dark red cape is fastened at the back, reminiscent of torn wings or feathers. Armor: Her right arm is fully protected by a massive golden pauldron (in the shape of a manticore), a bracer, and a metal gauntlet with claws. A simple golden bracelet is worn on her left bicep. Accessories: A large golden triangular earring in her left ear. The Pyro Eye of God is fastened to a belt at the back, near her right hip.
What is this?
Sumeru (Sanskrit: मेरु "Good Meru") is one of the seven regions of Teyvat. Sumeru is home to the Goddess of Wisdom, Dendro Archon, and Lesser Sovereign Kusanali. Sumeru is also known as a center of learning, and is home to the Sumeru Academy.
Description
Sumeru's landscape is quite varied, with both tropical rainforest[1] and desert[2] occupying most of the region.
The previous Dendro Archon, Great Sovereign Rukkhadevata, died during a cataclysm 500 years ago while defending Irminsul. Her place was taken by Lesser Sovereign Kusanali, who rules the region to this day.
Lisa studied magic at Sumeru Academy, where she is considered the best student in the last 200 years. Despite the prestige she enjoyed there, she eventually left the Academy and returned to Mondstadt, disillusioned with "mad scientists" and the price one "has to pay for attaining knowledge."[1][3]
The Deserters are a group of mercenaries who travel throughout Teyvat.[4] They consider themselves to be those who "do not fear death so that they may live fully."[5] Nazafarin, a scholar from Sumeru, claims that some of them possess "bizarre yet formidable abilities" and finds the topic of Deserters rather disturbing, dropping the subject after a brief explanation to the Traveler.[6]
The statue of the Seven Archons in this region depicts a female figure resembling a child.[7] She is draped with what appears to be a cloak and flowing clothing. The statue's figure is depicted seated on a large tree leaf, an attribute of the Dendro Archon's robe.

Nahida/Personality
She is the Lesser Ruler of Kusanali,[5] the current Dendro Archon.
Description
Description on the official website
The minor ruler Kusanali, who hardly leaves the walls of the Temple of Surastana, is almost never mentioned and not taken seriously.
She carries a heavy burden and never stops, even if there is pitch darkness and loneliness all around.
— Description on the official website.
Character introduction
"She's overly attentive and loving. There are flaws in her behavior, but her sense of divine responsibility for Sumeru is commendable. And for the youngest Archon, this is par for the course, while some others are prone to hysteria..."
— Chief Justice Fontaine Navillet [sic]
The minor ruler Kusanali, who hardly leaves the walls of the Temple of Surastana, is almost never mentioned and not taken seriously.
She constantly acquires new knowledge in order to become a qualified deity as soon as possible and lead her people.
If it weren't for the looming threat of "forbidden knowledge," wouldn't she want to take a break and see the countless creatures of Sumeru with her own eyes?
This colorful world appears to her only in dreams.
In the pure land of the spirit, she communicates with the sun and the wind, makes friends with animals and people, tells stories, plays games and sings songs that she has just learned...
She gives all her cherished desires to the realm of dreams, but no matter how lively and bright the night was, during the day silence returns again.
She rose slowly. Before the veil of sleep had lifted, an icy wave of loneliness washed over her, and she involuntarily hugged her shoulders.
...The quiet and unnatural hum of Akasha finally woke her up.
"So it was a dream within a dream..."
Nahida/Appearance
A short, fair-skinned girl standing approximately 138 cm tall with pointed "elven" ears and large green eyes. Her most distinctive feature is her long white hair, the tips of which gradually fade to a bright green and glow when she uses her powers. She wears a white dress shaped like an unopened bud, decorated with golden patterns, and a green cape. She wears white stockings and shoes. An intricate headdress of four-leaf clovers and hearts, as well as floral embellishments on her cape, complete her look.
Tignari
Tignari is a young man with the features of a forest animal: he has large, pointed fox ears and a long, fluffy green tail. His hair is dark, with strands of grass-green color. His eyes change color from brown to green. Clothing: an asymmetrical outfit of a dark blue sweatshirt, a white cloth on the belt and one long sleeve to protect the hand when shooting a bow. Tignari is a forest guardian and an outstanding scientist of Amurta, whose history is filled with unique details hidden from the superficial view. Unique details: Origin of the ears: His unusual long ears are the legacy of his ancestors, the fennec fox race (Valuk Shun's race). They have phenomenal hearing, which is why Tignari sincerely hates thunderstorms and noisy places. Being a genius graduate, he flatly refused the prestigious position of sage at Sumeru Academy. Instead He chose to live in the wilderness of Avidya, considering bureaucracy a waste of time. Tignari received his Dendro God's Eye during a boring scientific conference. When one of the speakers began spouting pseudoscientific nonsense, Tignari wanted to leave so badly that the artifact materialized in his hands, serving as the perfect excuse to leave the room. Despite his gentle appearance, he is merciless to violators. One such instance occurred when he tracked down poachers and planted hallucinogenic mushrooms in their camp, forcing the criminals to surrender to the Forest Watch due to terrifying visions. Due to his heightened senses, he cannot tolerate overly spicy foods or strong odors, preferring dishes made from fresh mushrooms and herbs. Tignari avoids the desert primarily due to his physiological characteristics and body structure. Heatstroke: During one of his attempts to study the desert, Tignari quickly suffered sunstroke and lost consciousness. Special Fur: The dark green color of his fur, inherited from an ancient race of desert guardians, absorbs too much heat, making exposure to direct sunlight dangerous to his health. It's worth noting that his parents are scientists at the Academy who are studying the evolution of beetles and desert fossils.
