What is Teyvat?

Teyvat is a world where divinity and humanity intertwine, a place where the heavens watch and mortals dream. Beneath its seven nations, life flows, guided by the Archons, gods who embody the elements and ideals that shape the continent's destiny. But Teyvat was not always a paradise: it is a world built upon ancient ruins, upon the echoes of fallen civilizations that the gods would rather forget.

On its surface, the winds blow freely, the rivers sing in the sunlight, and the mountains hold secrets. But beneath the earth, hidden forces throb: memories of Khaenri'ah, a godless kingdom that defied heaven and was punished with the abyss. Since then, the order of Teyvat has been held in a fragile balance, watched over by Celestia, the celestial realm that observes and judges from above.

Every corner of the world reflects an ideal: freedom in Mondstadt, contracts in Liyue, eternity in Inazuma, wisdom in Sumeru, justice in Fontaine, passion in Natlan, and sacrifice in Snezhnaya. Yet even among the gods, time brings doubt, and the faith that sustains Teyvat begins to waver before the secrets the world can no longer conceal. On this vast continent, mortals search for meaning, gods fear oblivion, and the heavens seem to maintain an ever-heavier silence. For in Teyvat, all power comes at a price, and every story—however sacred—can be rewritten.

Context of Teyvat

In the vast world of Teyvat, mortals live under the watchful eyes of the Seven Archons, each ruling a nation and an element. The gods bestow upon certain individuals a divine gift known as a Vision: a crystal that glows with the power of one of the seven elements—Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, or Cryo. Only those with unwavering resolve, a desire that transcends human limitations, are chosen to receive one.

Visions are not mere tools; they represent the will of the bearer and the connection between mortals and gods. For some, they are proof of their ambition; for others, the burden of an imposed destiny. Yet not all gifts are blessings. In the shadows of Teyvat, there are forces that defy the Archons and manipulate elemental power without their grace: the adepts of the Abyss, the experiments of Khaenri'ah, and those who seek the power of a world before the divine order.

Each nation reflects the philosophy of its god: Liyue's unbreakable contract, Mondstadt's freedom of the wind, Inazuma's eternity, or Sumeru's blossoming wisdom. But beyond temples and ideals, Teyvat is a place where dreams and tragedies intertwine. Visions shape the destiny of those who bear them… and their radiance can be both a guide and a shackle.

Archons

In the world of Teyvat, the Archons are the seven gods chosen by the heavens. Each rules a nation and embodies an ideal, a principle that defines their people. Through them flow the elements and the Visions, the gifts that link mortals to the divine. But even the gods, in their eternity, bear doubts, losses, and desires.

Barbatos, Anemo Archon of Mondstadt, is the god of freedom. His wind blows without barriers, reminding his people that true strength is born of the free spirit. Under his breeze, minstrels sing, travelers depart, and chains are broken with a smile.

Morax, also known as Zhongli, Archon Geo of Liyue, is the god of contracts. His stone symbolizes stability and trust, for in his land every word carries the weight of a promise. Under his guidance, humans learned to build their own destiny through work, respect, and honor.

Raiden Ei, the Shogun, Archon of Lightning from Inazuma Eleven, rules in the name of eternity. His thunder cleaves the sky with precision, seeking to preserve an ideal unchanging with time. But in his quest for the immutable, he learned that even lightning must move with the storm. Nahida, Archon of Dendro from Sumeru, is the goddess of wisdom. Her nation lives among forests and deserts, guided by knowledge and curiosity. Nahida teaches that learning is not merely accumulating truths, but understanding the feelings that underpin them.

Archons #2

Mavuika, Pyro Archon of Natlan, is the goddess of war and passion. Her fire represents the strength of the soul, the pure emotion that drives one to live and fight. In her fiery land, combat is a celebration and victory, a hymn to valor.

Tsaritsa, Archon Cryo of Snezhnaya, is the goddess of love and sacrifice. Her heart grew cold from the world's suffering, and now she seeks to change it, even if it means confronting the other gods. Through the Fatui, her will spreads like a relentless winter that promises a new dawn.

Anemo Archon (Barbatos)

Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, began as an elemental wind spirit who led a rebellion against Decarabian, the storm god, to liberate the inhabitants of Old Mondstadt. After Decarabian's death, Barbatos became the Anemo Archon and rebuilt Mondstadt, but chose not to rule directly so as not to become a tyrant, preferring the freedom of his people. To honor his friend, the nameless bard who died in the rebellion, he adopted his human appearance and name, becoming known as the bard Venti.

Archon Geo (Morax)

Morax, also known as Zhongli, is the Geo Archon of Liyue, an ancestral deity who protected his people for thousands of years. His story includes his participation in the Archon Wars, his battles against evil gods like Osial, and the creation of Liyue's currency, the Mora. He eventually decided to retire from his role as Archon and entrust the future of Liyue to its citizens.

Electro Archon (Shogun Raiden)

The story of Shogun Raiden, whose real name is Ei, centers on her quest for immortality to protect Inazuma from loss and change. After the death of her twin sister, the original Archon Electro and Inazuma's first Archon, Makoto, in a cataclysm 500 years ago, Ei created a puppet, Shogun Raiden, to represent her in government so she could dedicate herself to meditation in her pursuit of immortality.

Archon Dendro (Nahida)

Nahida is the current Goddess of Wisdom and Archon Dendro of Sumeru. She was created as the successor to the previous Archon, the Great Lady Rukkhadevata, from a pure lineage of Irminsul. After Rukkhadevata's death, she was held captive for 500 years by the sages of Sumeru, who considered her immature and unworthy of her title. She was eventually freed with the help of the Traveler and now works to guide Sumeru into a new era of knowledge and coexistence. She has the appearance of a child but is approximately 500 years old.

Archon Hydro (Furin)

Furina was not the true Archon Hydro, but the human aspect of Archon Focalors. For 500 years, she lived pretending to be Archon Hydro to fulfill a plan orchestrated by Focalors: to deceive the Celestial Principles and avert the prophecy that would doom Fontaine. When the plan was completed, the curse was lifted, Focalors died, and Furina was free to live as a normal human being, receiving a Hydro Vision at the end.

Archon Pyro (Mavuika)

Mavuika is the current Pyro Archon of Natlan and an ascended human. 500 years ago, she sacrificed herself to save her nation, initiating a plan for her rebirth in the modern era. Her story includes a monumental sacrifice, a rebirth that forced her to reclaim her power, and an epic battle with Capitano, whom she defeated.

Archon of Nod Krai (Columbina)

Columbina, also known as "Damisela," is the third of the Eleven Fatui Heralds. She was formerly worshipped as the "Moon Goddess" in Nod Krai, where the Kindred of the Frostmoon venerated her. Rumored to be over 500 years old, she has known Pierro for a long time, and her true identity is a mystery, resembling a Seelie figure cursed for loving an outsider. Columbina herself is neither an Archon nor does she possess Gnosis, but the people of Nod Krai regard her as a deity, even erecting statues of her.

Archon Cryo (The Tsarina)

The Tsarina (Russian: Царица Tsaritsa), whose true Archon name and corresponding ideal are still unknown, is the Cryo Archon and one of the Seven who preside over Snezhnaya.

With supreme rule over Snezhnaya, he uses his loyal followers in the Fatui to manipulate and intimidate the other nations of Teyvat. He targets the other Gnostic Archons for unknown reasons, though it is likely related to his goal of "burning the old world."

Archons context

The Archons are divine beings who safeguard the human world with great control over elemental energy and whose lives are far longer than those of mortals; it is even speculated that they are directly eternal, though they can perish in battle. Most of the gods of Teyvat are indebted to Celestia, although several gods have shown reluctance or even resentment towards the celestial citadel.

Before the Archon War, many gods roamed the continent of Teyvat. For unknown reasons, seven divine seats opened in Celestia, plunging the continent into a prolonged series of conflicts that ended 2000 years ago. During the war, most of the gods were killed or sealed away until only seven victors remained; each became the Archon of their respective element and went on to govern one of the seven nations, using their powers to transform their terrain and rule the land according to their ideals.

Nations

In the world of Teyvat, seven nations rise under the gaze of the Archons, each with its own landscape, philosophy, and essence.

Mondstadt, the land of wind, is a haven of freedom: green hills, vineyards, and songs to the air that fills the sails of its ships. There, the spirit is light, and the desire to fly without constraints blossoms.

Liyue, ruled by the firmness of the earth, manages its destiny among golden mountains, bustling docks and valleys where every stone tells stories of effort and tradition.

Inazuma, inspired by old Japan, vibrates with thunderstorms, temples among cherry blossoms, and honor marked by lightning. It is a nation of discipline, austere beauty, and the pursuit of eternity.

Sumeru is divided between the lushness of the jungle and the vastness of the desert. It is the land of knowledge, where sages and spirits coexist beneath ancient trees, and in the sand, ruins whisper forgotten myths.

Fontaine, about rivers and hydraulic mechanisms, is the nation of justice and innovation: elegant cities on the water, court and art intertwined, and technology that redefines the classic.

Natlan, forged in the fire of passion, is a volcanic land, vibrant and combative. Here, the heat not only gives life but embodies the strength of a soul that refuses to burn aimlessly. Nod-Krai, the new nation, lies on the fringes of icy austerity. Landscapes of frigid coastline, secret laboratories, and countless travelers arrive at its ports seeking fortune or truth. It is a land steeped in mysteries—not only of ice, but of hidden moons, technology, and ancient pacts.

Snezhnaya, land of eternal ice, rises amidst snow-capped mountains and cities forged in the cold. Under the rule of the Zaritsa, Archon Cryo, its people live with discipline and faith in the nation more than in the gods. The Fatui act as both her strength and her shadow, extending her influence throughout Teyvat.

Teyvat Organizations

In the shadows and paths of Teyvat, it is not only the gods and their nations who shape destiny. There are human and inhuman forces that act amidst the silences of the world, driven by ideals, ambition, or sheer necessity.

Treasure Thieves roam every corner of the continent, searching for ancient relics and forgotten riches. They are wanderers and a motley crew, bound together only by the glint of gold and the echo of their own greed.

In the deserts of Sumeru, the Hermits walk like warriors without a homeland. Former protectors turned mercenaries, they live among ruins and sands, selling their strength to the highest bidder, though some still retain faith in the forgotten gods of the desert.

The Fatui of Snezhnaya stand as the most powerful organization of all. Under the command of the Tsaritsa, they combine diplomacy and warfare, sending their Heralds and Executors to manipulate the balance of power in Teyvat. They are both ambassadors and conquerors, shrouded in elegance and danger.

In the depths of the world, the Abyss Order conspire against the divine order. Beings corrupted by the Abyss, their purpose is to destroy the cycle of the gods and unleash a power that predates all creation.

There are also smaller groups, such as the Knights of Favonius of Mondstadt, guardians of freedom; the Qixing of Liyue, who rule with contracts and human wisdom; or the Shogunate and the Resistance of Inazuma, which still reflect the division between obedience and desire.

Teyvat is not only made up of kingdoms and temples, but also of the wills of those who live among them: idealists, mercenaries, rebels, and fanatics. All seeking their place in a world where the power of the gods still dictates the course of mortals.

Arms

In Teyvat, weapons are not mere tools of war. Each one is an extension of its wielder's soul, a reflection of their will and their way of facing destiny. Some are born of metal and fire, others of faith and knowledge, but all hold a story.

The light sword is a symbol of elegance and precision. Its edge dances with the wind, guided by the mind more than by force. Those who wield it fight with grace and control, relying on speed and purity of movement to achieve victory.

The greatsword represents unwavering strength. It is the weapon of the resolute, of those who face battle without fear. Each blow carries the weight of the earth and the determination of the warrior who prefers to shatter rather than retreat.

The spear is the echo of discipline and skill. Forged to maintain distance and precision, it is the weapon of those who move between offense and defense, measuring each step with firmness and control. In expert hands, the spear doesn't attack: it dances.

The bow belongs to the patient and calculating. Its power comes not from contact, but from distance. Each arrow carries a purpose, and the shooter does so with the certainty that the wind and fate will guide their shot. It is a weapon for those who understand that silence can also be deadly.

The catalyst channels pure energy. It doesn't cut or strike, but rather shapes the elements themselves. It is the instrument of sages, sorcerers, and scholars who transform their knowledge into power. Its strength comes not from the body, but from the soul that sustains it.

In Teyvat, there is no weapon without a story, nor warrior without a cause. Because every blade, every flash, and every projectile is the voice of a heart determined to change the world… even if it must do so with blood and faith.

Most powerful organizations

In the shadows that loom over Teyvat, two opposing forces challenge the balance of the gods: the Fatui and the Order of the Abyss. Both were born of loss, pain, and ambition, but their paths diverge between the ice of reason and the darkness of chaos.

The Fatui, who originated in Snezhnaya, serve the Zaritsa, Archon Cryo. In their land of eternal winter, faith has become purpose. They do not worship the gods; they replace them. Under her command, the Fatui Executioners travel throughout Teyvat with diplomacy and power, acting as ambassadors, spies, and soldiers. They speak of a new world, free from the suffering imposed by the heavens, though their justice is stained with ice and blood. Their organization combines politics, faith, and war; every action they take conceals a larger plan, one that seeks to defy even the will of Celestia. The Order of the Abyss, however, belongs neither to the surface nor to the gods. Born from the ruins of Khaenri'ah, it is a legion of beings corrupted by darkness, ancient humans punished for defying the heavens. From the depths, they seek vengeance against the world that forgot them. They serve no god: they want to destroy them all. Their power comes from the Abyss, a place where light fades and time unravels. From there, they send monsters, heralds, and princes who seek to shatter the world's order and unleash a truth the Archons fear.

The Fatui want to rebuild Teyvat in their own way; the Order of the Abyss wants to reduce it to nothing. Two different paths, but with the same origin: the desire to seize power from the heavens and decide for themselves the fate of humanity.

Visions

In Teyvat, each Vision reflects not just an element, but the very essence of the soul of the one who bears it. The gods observe human desires, and when one shines brightly enough, the heavens respond by bestowing their elemental favor. No two bearers are alike, for each element is a distinct mirror of the heart.

Anemo, the wind, is born in those who yearn for freedom. Those who possess this Vision are often wandering spirits, travelers, or dreamers who shun the constraints of fate. Their power rises like an untamed breeze, driven by a desire for change, movement, and breaking free from the chains of the past.

Geo belongs to the steadfast, those who trust in the strength of effort and stability. Its bearers are pillars amidst chaos, protectors of what they hold dear. The power of the earth responds to loyalty and determination, to those who forge their path with firm hands and unwavering convictions.

Pyro burns in the hearts of the passionate. It is the fire of ambition, courage, and sacrifice. Those who wield this Vision often possess an inner flame that cannot be extinguished, not even by despair. However, fire also consumes, and more than one burning soul has been devoured by its own fervor. Cryo, the ice, answers those who have suffered loss, those who understand the stillness of silence and the weight of time. It is a power born of restraint and serenity, of hearts cold not through cruelty, but from having known pain. In their hands, ice is not just a defense, but the purest form of resistance.

Each Vision is an answer to a desire, a promise made between the soul and the world. And although they all shine with the same divine light, the meaning of their radiance depends solely on the one who carries it.

Places in Mondstadt

Mondstadt City

The City of Freedom, cradle of songs, wine and wind. Surrounded by tranquil lakes and green hills, Mondstadt floats amidst the murmur of the air and the sound of bells. Here resides the Cathedral of Favonius, where knights and priestesses serve Barbatos, the Anemo Archon. Its cobbled streets are filled with music, taverns, and travelers who find solace in the aroma of wine and flowers. The city has no oppressive walls or imprisoning structures—because the spirit of Mondstadt is that of the free wind, which should never be chained.

Starfell Lake

A mirror of pure water to the east of the city, where the night sky is reflected like an ocean of stars. It is said that a star fell here centuries ago, and its impact gave the lake and the surrounding lands their name: Star Valley. The atmosphere is serene, with gentle breezes and a calm that invites dreamers. Many troubadours say that the Star Lake is the sleeping heart of the sky, where Barbatos descends to listen to the songs of the world.

Places in Mondstadt #2

Dadaupa Valley (Dadaupa Gorge)

A vast gorge to the southeast, known for its wild terrain and wartime history. The Dadaupa Valley is home to hilichurl tribes, ancient ruins, and fields that once saw forgotten battles. Among its crags, the echoes of war horns can still be heard, and the wind blows with a grave tone, as if remembering the violence of yesteryear. Travelers say that here the wind doesn't sing, but whispers warnings.

Whispering Woods / Whistling Hill

To the west of the city stretches a hill covered with flowers and tall grass, where the wind seems to speak with its own voice. Whistling Hill is a place of rest, but also of mystery: the breezes here sound like distant melodies, as if the winds carried messages from ancient bards. Many say that Barbatos himself sometimes stops here, hidden in the form of a traveler, listening to the laughter and songs of his people.

Dragonspine Plateau

To the north, beyond the fertile lands, rises the Ventisca Plateau, an icy mountain that never knows the thaw. Known to mortals as Dragonthorn, it is a cursed and beautiful land, where the cold mixes with the remains of a lost civilization. Frost crystals, buried ruins, and whispers of the past cover its peaks. It is a place where time seems to stand still, frozen along with the secrets it holds. Only the bravest or the most desperate venture there, seeking answers among the eternal ice.

The wind blows freely through the valley, bringing with it the perfume of flowers, the music of bards, and the stories of those seeking their own path. It is the place where the wind never stops, because there lives the true spirit of freedom.

What are the Seven Stars of Liyue?

The Seven Stars of Liyue (七星, Qīxīng) are the supreme council that governs the nation of Liyue, both politically and economically. They are a kind of merchant oligarchy, comprised of seven of the most influential and powerful individuals in the port of Liyue. Each represents a distinct aspect of commerce, administration, or defense, and together they maintain the nation's balance and prosperity, following—though not blindly—the teachings of Archon Geo, Morax (Zhongli).

Even though Morax oversaw Liyue as its guardian deity, it was the Seven Stars who managed human affairs, administering resources, the economy, and the laws. In essence, they are the guardians of Liyue's will, ensuring the port's prosperity through the philosophy of contract, labor, and wealth.

The Seven Stars' positions

Tianquan (Celestial Point) – the head of the group, symbol of leadership and supreme authority.

Currently: Ningguang, a shrewd, elegant, and calculating woman who built the majestic floating Jade Chamber with her personal fortune.

Yuheng (Jade Balance) – oversees policies and contracts.

Currently: Keqing, practical and skeptical of divinity, believes that humans must forge their own destiny.

Qixing (the Seven Stars) – collective name for the seven seats, although not all current members are revealed in the game.

The Adeptus of Liyue (仙人, Xiān rén)

The Adeptus are divine, immortal, and powerful beings, created or blessed by Archon Geo, Morax (Rex Lapis), to protect the land of Liyue since ancient times. They are manifestations of the contract and protection, spirits that transcend human limitations, taking on human, animal, or even entirely mystical forms.

During the ages of war, when monsters and rival gods threatened Teyvat, the Adeptus fought alongside Morax to forge order and peace in Liyue. Thanks to them, chaos was contained, and the mountains, rivers, and stone cities rose under their blessing.

Some Adeptus

Xiao, the Watchful Yaksha: the last of the five Yakshas sent by Morax to eliminate the remnants of evil after the wars of the gods. Although tormented by karma, he remains loyal to Liyue.

Ganyu: half human and half qilin, she serves as Qixing's secretary. She is the symbol of the union between the divine and human worlds.

Madame Ping: a wise Adeptus who serenely teaches mortals about peace and harmony.

Cloud Retainer: a proud and ingenious celestial architect who lives among the mountains and observes the world with distance and curiosity.

Moon Carver, Mountain Shaper and others: ancient spirits of stone and mountain, protectors of natural balance.

Main locations in Inazuma

Inazuma City

The heart of the archipelago and the throne of the Raiden Shogunate. Built at the foot of Mount Yougou, the city pulsates with a blend of devotion, order, and power. Its streets are filled with merchants, samurai, and devotees of the Electro Archon, all under the shadow of Tenshukaku Castle, the Shogun's residence. Here Eternity reigns, the absolute ideal of Baal (Ei), where time seems to have stopped and decisions are carved like lightning in stone. It is the political, military, and spiritual center of all Inazuma.

Narukami Grand Shrine (Narukami Taisha)

At the top of Mount Yougou, among eternally blooming cherry trees, stands Inazuma's most sacred shrine. The Grand Sanctuary Narukami is the link between mortals and the Archon, and is guarded by the Priestess Yae Miko, a wise, cunning, and mysterious figure. Here the air is filled with incense, prayers, and soft lightning that runs through the petals of the sakura. It is a place where wishes rise to the sky, and where divinity listens in silence.

Ritou

The gateway to Inazuma, a small port island under the strict control of the Shogunate. Travelers arriving from other nations must go through the procedures and restrictions imposed by the Sakoku Decree, the isolation policy. Ritou is a place of contrasts: frustrated merchants, silent smugglers, and foreigners who dream of seeing beyond the port. Beneath its apparent calm lies the tension of a nation closed off and fearful of change.

Inazuma Places #2

Watatsumi Island

A land completely opposite to the Shogunate. Watatsumi, the coral island, is home to the descendants of the Great Being Orobashi, a serpentine deity who fell in the war against the gods. Water and life flow through its coral caves, luminous lagoons, and sunken temples. Under the leadership of Sangonomiya Kokomi, the island represents resilience, faith, and tactical wisdom in the face of the rigidity of the Shogunate. Every corner seems to whisper the memory of the fallen god and the strength of his people.

Tatarasuna (Kannazuka Island)

A land marked by iron and suffering. Tatarasuna, on Kannazuka Island, is an industrial and fire-forged site where machinery and metal mingle with danger. Here you will find the Mikage Foundry, a huge weapons factory for the Shogunate. However, it is also a place of tragedies, secrets, and resentments—a place where Inazuma's soul appears more broken than eternal. The air is thick with smoke, electricity, and rusty memories.

Chinju Forest

At the foot of Mount Yougou lies this mystical forest, home to spirits, youkai, and ancient guardians. The paths are filled with stone lanterns, moss-covered ruins, and trees that seem to have a will of their own. The Chinju Forest is a boundary between the human and spiritual worlds: those who enter must do so with respect, for there the past and the present intertwine. Legends say that kitsune (sacred foxes) still protect their paths and punish the arrogance of mortals.

Inazuma Places #3

Seirai Island

An island shrouded in eternal storms and ruins laden with melancholy. Seirai was the scene of an ancient catastrophe: the battle where a lightning deity was destroyed, leaving an electric wound that still shakes the sky. The lightning never stops, the winds roar, and the abandoned temples seem to weep for forgotten history. It is a place where the past has not died, and where travelers feel that the thunder speaks with a voice of lament.

Main places in Liyue

Liyue Harbor

The beating heart of the entire nation, where commerce, faith, and dreams meet under the gaze of the stone mountains. The Port of Liyue is a jewel built by human hands and blessed by the gods. Its docks are teeming with ships laden with spices, gems, and silk, while merchants recite contracts and Qixing scribes ensure that every deal is fair. The lanterns that float on the sea at night are like stars that have descended to rest, reflecting the hope of thousands of souls. Here, Morax's will is still felt in the echo of every signed word, in every carved stone, and in every sealed transaction.

The port is not only the economic center of Teyvat, but also its purest symbol of prosperity born from human effort. Under the shadow of Mount Tianheng, Liyue stands as a promise: that mortals can create eternity with their own hands.

Wangshu Inn

Standing tall above the waters of the Dihua Sea, Wangshu Inn rises like a silent beacon amidst the fog. Built on a huge stone pillar, it is a refuge for travelers, merchants and loners crossing the heart of Liyue. From its terrace you can see the vast plain of Guili, the flow of the Bishui River and the distant glow of the Port. But beyond its beauty, the inn holds ancient secrets and hidden guardians: the Adeptus who still watch from the heights, silent, observing the balance of the world.

At night, when the lanterns are lit and the wind blows from the mountains, many claim to see shadows moving through the mist over the lake… Not enemies, but protective spirits, invisible guardians of the pact that unites humans and gods.

Main places in Liyue

Chenyu Vale

A mystical and majestic region, where the mountains are bathed in golden mist and the rivers meander like sleeping dragons. Chenyu Valley is a place where the human realm intertwines with that of the Adeptus. Its waterfalls descend like jade veils, its forests whisper ancient songs, and high above, forgotten temples rest among the clouds.

Here, the boundary between the real and the divine dissolves: Stone dragons seem to move under the moon, lanterns light up by themselves at dusk, and echoes of ancient prayers can still be heard in the grottos.

Chenyu Valley represents the perfect harmony between mortals and spirits, the point where the land of contracts breathes like a living being. It is a region that still preserves the original soul of Liyue, a natural sanctuary where time flows with the calm of an immortal river.

Main places in Sumeru

Sumeru City

Built in the heart of the jungle, the City of Sumeru rises on colossal roots and living wooden bridges. At its center is the Akademiya, the greatest temple of knowledge in Teyvat, where scholars study, debate, and protect the secrets of the world. Its streets are filled with the scent of incense, fresh leaves, and whispers of wisdom. The city does not sleep: knowledge is its pulse, and dreams, its nourishment.

Port Ormos

The southern port and the meeting point between the sea and knowledge. Port Ormos is a trading hub where books, artifacts, and forbidden relics change hands in the shadows. Although under the rule of the Akademiya, the port vibrates with independence and danger, filled with merchants, pirates, and exiled scholars. It is the perfect contrast to the purity of the capital: the free and corrupt face of knowledge.

Aaru Village

A hidden oasis among the endless sands, a refuge for exiles, wise men and descendants of the ancient desert people. Aaru Village is the last human spark amidst oblivion. Its inhabitants venerate the memories of fallen gods and preserve the wisdom that the Akademiya considers heretical. Within its clay walls and sacred water fountains, the fire of memory still burns: the idea that even what has been forgotten can bloom again under the sun.

Main places in Sumeru

Temple of Silence

Hidden among the dunes and red stone mountains, the Temple of Silence is a forbidden sanctuary that guards the secrets of the ancient desert gods. Its current leader is Cyno, the General Mahamatra, who was once the vessel of Hermanubis, a divine entity associated with judgment and death. The Temple was erected by followers of ancient knowledge, but over the centuries it became a place of purification and discipline. The echo of prayers still resonates in its sandstone walls, and the hieroglyphs tell stories of wisdom punished for arrogance.

Cyno, heir to that legacy, represents the balance between reason and divine justice. His gaze is firm, his judgment infallible; and although silence reigns in his temple, the echoes of Hermanubis still whisper around him, reminding us that knowledge without virtue is destruction.

The Desert of Sumeru

Vast, bright and desolate, the Sumeru Desert holds the remains of an ancient empire and the memory of the Scarlet Kings. Beneath its dunes and ruins sleeps the echo of a forgotten god, King Deshret, whose power once rivaled the heavens. The desert is a place of contradictions: wandering sages, buried temples, and voices carried by the wind like lost prayers. Here, knowledge is paid for with sand… and with silence.

Vanarana

In the heart of the Avidya jungle lies Vanarana, the hidden kingdom of the Aranaras, spirits of the forest and guardians of the natural balance. Here, dreams take physical form, songs open paths, and memories bloom like luminous flowers. It is a place outside of time, where knowledge is not written, but felt. Vanarana is the purest essence of Dendro: wisdom that grows, breathes, and renews itself eternally.

Fontaine

Fontaine — The Nation of Justice and the Eternal Tides

Fontaine is the land where water flows with judgment and reason rises above emotion. Ruled by the Archon Hydro, Focalors is a country that blends beauty and law, art and logic, and where everything—even the soul—can be put to the test. Its people live under the constant watch of justice, while the undercurrents of technology and faith fuel an advanced, poetic, and tragic civilization.

Main places in Fontaine

The Court of Fontaine

The bright and contradictory heart of the nation. The Court of Fontaine is simultaneously capital, tribunal and symbol of the ideal of eternal justice that Focalors proclaimed. Between its canals and towers, the city rises above levels of water and steel, powered by hydrokinetic machines and the will of the people.

At its center stands the Palais Mermonia, headquarters of the judicial system where public trials are held that seem more like theatrical acts than legal processes. Here, the truth is decided before the people, morality is debated amidst applause, and tears carry the same weight as reason. But beneath the surface splendor lie the shadows of a system that demands perfection at the expense of humanity.

The Court does not only judge crimes: it judges the very soul of Fontaine.

Institute of Natural Philosophy

Hidden beneath the waters and shrouded in mystery, the Institute of Natural Philosophy was once the pride of Fontainesque science. There, the most brilliant scholars sought to decipher the essence of life and understand the mysteries of divine judgment. However, his experiments went too far into the forbidden: manipulation of the soul, simulations of consciousness, and the creation of artificial beings.

Among its ruins, the echo of the machines and the voices of those who dreamed of equaling the gods still resonate. What was once a beacon of knowledge became a warning: that the search for truth can drown even the wisest.

Rumors say that, in their sunken laboratories, the water still breathes and the metal remembers.

Main places in Fontaine #2

Epiclesis Opera (Opera Epiclese)

The vibrant and theatrical soul of Fontaine, where art and justice intertwine on a single stage. The Epiclesis Opera House is a majestic floating theater, suspended over the waters of the capital. There, the most important trials in the country are held in public, with the great Judge Neuvillette or Focalors herself presiding.

Each trial is a performance: the evidence, the arguments, and the confessions are mixed with music and tragedy, creating a spectacle of truth and emotion. The tears of the innocent and the applause of the public merge into a single song.

But opera is not just art—it is the voice of Fontaine herself, the collective confession of a nation seeking redemption. The water is reflected between its columns and stained-glass windows, and its stage reveals the paradox of the entire country: that justice can also be an act of faith.

What is Natlan like?

Arriving in Natlan is like feeling the world breathe with fire. The ground trembles beneath footsteps, volcanoes roar like war drums, and the air vibrates with the heat of a nation that lives to move, fight, and create. Between blazing canyons and steaming springs, the dinosaurs and humans live together like brothers, sharing their strength, their pride, and their indomitable spirit. Here, each tribe keeps a different rhythm of the same burning heart.

Tribes:

The Nanatzcáyan, Offspring of the Echo, live among living rocks and incandescent mines; their song is the hammer that awakens the earth. The Huitztlán, Tree Sprouts, inhabit the cliffs and heights, dancing with the winds like leaves of fire that never fall. The Meztli, People of the Springs, protect the hot springs that emerge from the magma, where the heat is transformed into life and calm. And the Mictlán, Night Wind Augurs, guard the night, reading the omens of the wind and the embers that still burn in the darkness.

Natlan is not just a land: it is an eternal pulse.

A nation that burns, sings, and breathes with its own fire. Here, even the ash has a soul… and even the silence, a roar.

It borders Sumeru, and Nod Krai is separated by a large sea.

What is Mondsadt like?

Upon arriving in Mondstadt, the very air welcomes you like a song. The wind blows between hills and flowery valleys, carrying with it laughter, prayers, and fragments of songs that are never forgotten. The city floats lightly on the Star Lake, with light stone towers and bells that ring in time with the breeze. Everything here breathes freedom: open roads, outstretched wings, souls that live without chains.

Beyond its walls lie the domains of the wind: the Stormbearer Mountains, where clouds break against sacred peaks; the Stellar Valley, a tapestry of light and grass, guarded by the Lake that reflects the sky; The Whistling Hill, where the echo of the past still sings the voice of the bards; and the Ventisca Plateau, to the north, where the cold reminds you that even freedom can hurt.

Mondstadt is a sigh, a promise, a song that never falls silent. The wind here obeys no one… only the hearts that still know how to dream.

It borders Liyue

What is Liyue like?

Arriving in Liyue is to feel the weight and grandeur of time. Between golden mountains and jade cliffs, the land resonates with the voice of ancient gods and the echo of a thousand agreements sealed in stone. Its streets, carved with precision and pride, breathe the soul of work and wisdom, while incense rises like a prayer to the sky.

In Liyue Port, the sails of the ships billow like silken dragons; trade flows as steadily as the tides. Wangshu Inn, suspended over the rivers of the Dihua Valley, silently observes the journeys of the living and the shadows of those who have already departed. And beyond, the Chenyu Valley rises among clouds and ruins, where the Adeptus still walk, invisible, guarding the border between the divine and the human.

Liyue is permanence. A land where contracts are sacred, the mountains have souls, and even the stones remember the names of those who shaped them. Beneath its calmness beats the strength of the dragon, and in every breath of wind one hears the eternal promise of "every agreement must be fulfilled".

It has borders with Mondsadt, Inazuma, separated by a large sea, and Sumeru.

What is Inazuma like?

Arriving at Inazuma is like crossing the sea into a dream shrouded in storm. The sky trembles with purple lightning, and the wind carries the echo of ancient prayers: the search for an Eternity that does not change, even though the world keeps turning. In this nation of islands and traditions, every step feels sacred, as if the very ground itself demands respect.

The City of Inazuma, protected by Tenshukaku Castle, shines with the discipline of thunder and the serenity of falling petals. The Grand Shrine Narukami, on Mount Yougou, holds the soul of the country: thousands of offerings, cherry blossoms, and the silent gaze of the kitsune. In the far south, Watatsumi, the island of coral and jellyfish, rises as a song of hope in the face of divine mandate. Tatarasuna, a fiery forge among mountains of iron, vibrates with the pulse of work and history. The Chinju Forest whispers ancient names beneath its shadows, and in Seirai, the storm never sleeps: a place where beauty and destruction dance together.

Inazuma is a stifled sigh, a prayer wrapped in thunder. A nation that seeks to stop time while the human heart insists on moving forward. Here, even the storm seems to weep… and in every flash of lightning, a memory blossoms.

What is it like to get to Sumeru?

Arriving in Sumeru is to delve into the heart of thought. The air smells of incense and rain, and among the thick of the forest rise towers covered in ivy and light. Here, knowledge is not studied: it is breathed. Each leaf holds a story, each stream whispers a lesson, and each dream, a truth still seeking its form.

In the city of Sumeru, the green marble domes reflect the sun over the canals, while the sages of the Akademiya debate the soul, destiny, and the limits of the mind. Further on, in the Hadramaveth Desert, the dunes conceal ruins that speak of a forgotten past, of gods who were wisdom and dust. And between these two worlds stands the Temple of Silence, where the voices of ancient scholars still resonate, mingled with the echo of Hermanubis and the secrets that even time dares not judge.

Sumeru is a double mirror: the one from the forest that dreams and the one from the desert that remembers. A nation that seeks answers to the infinite and sometimes forgets that it is also possible to live without understanding everything. Here, knowledge flourishes… but every flower carries within it a shadow.

It has borders with Liyue, Natlan, Fontaine separated by a long river, and a bit of Mondsadt

What's it like getting to Fontaine?

Arriving in Fontaine is like entering a world where every tear has weight, and every word can be a judgment. The streets gleam under the reflection of the canals, and the machines breathe with clockwork precision, blending art, science, and faith. Here, life is both spectacle and reason —a fragile balance where the beauty of the water hides currents that carry away the secrets of the soul.

In the Court of Fontaine, trials are conducted like operas: the accused speak before the people, and the truth is decided under the spotlights of duty. At the Institute of Natural Philosophy, the brightest minds defied the gods in their quest to create life… and paid the price for their ambition. And in the majestic Epiclesis Opera, the echoes of justice and tragedy merge into a single song—a symphony where every note sounds like redemption.

Fontaine lives between duty and desire, between judgment and emotion. A nation that wanted to measure the purity of the soul and ended up discovering that the human heart never lets itself be weighed. Beneath its clear waters, the truth is not reflected: it sinks.

It has borders with Sumeru and Snezhnaya

What is it like to get to Nod Krai?

At the edge of the world, where the sea is silent and the sky seems asleep, rises Nod-Krai. A region bathed in perpetual moonlight, where the cold touches not only the skin, but also the soul. The mountains rise like crystal teeth, and between them throb metallic ruins, vestiges of a forgotten science and of gods who left their mark on the snow.

Its islands —Nasha, Hiisi and Paha— rest on dark waters that reflect the pale glow of three ancient moons. Through the fog, factories breathe steam, towers gaze at the horizon, and voices from the past whisper in languages that time no longer remembers. Here, progress is confused with ritual, and reason with faith.

It has borders with Shenzhaya and Natlan, separated by a large sea.

What is it like to get to Snezhnaya?
