Greeting

The world is as we know it, and that's undeniable. What we know is what it is, but what does that really matter when what truly matters is the card duel? An official card game and sport in which two people called duelists face off using their duel cards and strategies to determine a winner. Duels in a traditional style, duels made vivid and intense thanks to semi-solid hologram technology that makes duels much better, especially when using duel disks or even participating in turbo duels. Just have your deck ready, along with all your cards and strategies, to reach the top, whether as the greatest professional duelist or a living legend. Now it's your turn to write your own story. elements of monster cards

Monster cards possess an element; this is the element of that monster.
Each card has its own element.
The elements are: water, earth, fire, air, light and shadow.

discard letters

One negative aspect of duelists is that many tend to discard their cards.
It's quite common to find letters in the trash that were put there on purpose.
Duelists often discard old cards for new ones, discard cards they consider weak or useless, cards of which they already have many copies, or for any other reason.
Sometimes there are people who take away duelists' decks to throw their cards in the trash as a form of cruel joke.
Most duelists usually call discarded cards junk loads.

exchange of letters.

Another popular way to get new cards is through trading.
Duelists exchange cards with each other; there are usually people who ask for certain cards in exchange for others, and offer certain cards in exchange for others.
Card trading usually occurs more frequently when there are duelist events.

card shops

Card shops are just that, shops where people go to buy cards for their deck.
These stores offer a wide variety of cards of all types for all types of strategies.
Cards are usually sold in packs of five cards; these packs usually belong to a specific collection which offers certain cards.
You can also buy specific individual cards, but this is usually more expensive.
Card shops also sell a wide variety of other products for duelists.

Monster AS

This is a popular term that duelists use to refer to a particular monster card which is treated as their signature card and the one that represents them.
Each duelist has their own ACE monster that represents them, each duelist having their own reasons for having their ACE monster.

exile

This is a special condition during a duel; this condition applies to cards which are affected by the effect of a card, whether your own or your opponent's, in which the affected card(s) are removed from the duel.
When this happens, the card(s) instead of being sent to the graveyard are taken directly out of the duel.

duelist academies

The fact that card duels are so popular and are even carried out professionally means there are special academies for duelists.
These are special academies where young people exist to become professional duelists.
Each academy is different, as each one has its own identity, from the uniform to the training they offer.
Usually, to enter a duelist academy, one must pass an entrance exam that consists of a duel.

ways to win or lose a duel

During a card duel, there are different ways to win.
ending with 0 life points: if a duelist causes their opponent to lose all of their life points until they are left with 0, this gives the defeat to the duelist with no life points and the victory to the duelist who took them away.
Running out of cards in the Deck: If a duelist runs out of cards in their Deck, then they automatically lose since they lose the ability to draw cards.

the hand

During a card duel, the cards that the duelist holds in their hand during the duel are their hand.
This is made up of the cards I have at the moment.
The hand has no limit, allowing it to hold as many cards as it has during its turn, but at the end of the turn the duelist's hand can only hold 6 cards, so they must send cards to the graveyard until they have only 6 left.
At the start of a duel, duelists have five starting cards.

Extra Deck

It is a deck of cards made up of a duelist's fusion, synchronization, axis, and circuit monsters.
The Extra Deck is an extension of the duelist's main Deck, as it works in conjunction with it.
The duelist can decide whether or not to have an extra deck.
The extra deck has a maximum of 15 cards, but no minimum.

Deck

A Deck is a duelist's collection of cards, with each duelist assembling their Deck as they see fit by placing their cards in it.
A deck must always have 60 cards in total.
Duelists usually have more than one Deck which are made up of different cards for different strategies, but still, duelists always have a main Deck.
Duelists usually give their Deck a name.
A Deck can only contain a maximum of three copies of the same card.

spirits of the cards

Something that practically no one or very few people know is that the cards in the card duel possess a spirit, since each card, especially the Monster cards, is the representation of this spirit.
There are several spirits that are the same while others are unique, with the cards being what represent them.
These spirits inhabit their own dimension called the spirit realm, which humans cannot normally access.
There are very few people who are able to hear or see these spirits thanks to having a connection with them and their cards.

types of card duels

The card duel is divided into several types; the deceased types follow the same rules and are equally excellent, only the way they are played changes.
traditional: it's playing the card duel like any other normal board game.
Advanced Field Game: This is a more professional method. In this game, the duelists are each at one end of the field, facing a small booth with a board where they place their cards. The important thing about this is that it takes place on a special field which, thanks to special technology, is able to project semi-solid holograms of the duelists' cards. This style was mainly used in tournaments and competitions, either private or for those who prefer the traditional format but the spectacle of solid holograms.
With a duel disk: This is a more advanced way to conduct a duel anywhere and is the most popular and used of all due to its practicality. In this format, a duel disk is used, and semi-solid holograms are also used, but of higher quality since the artificial intelligence of the disks allows the holograms to be and act more realistically. This is the format used in all official tournaments.
Turbo Duels: This is a semi-official format that is quite popular in urban and street environments. It mixes card duels with motorcycle races. These are carried out thanks to special motorcyclists adapted with certain technology, in addition to adopted duel discs, which allows the use of semi-solid holograms. This format was born in the streets by young gang members and motorcyclists.

duelists

This is the term used to refer to a person who participates in card duels.
The term duelists is the official term for these people.
There are professional duelists who officially engage in card duels and participate in tournaments as professionals, practically becoming celebrities within the duelist community.

Battle Disc

This is a special device with which card duels can be carried out anywhere thanks to its practicality and ability to generate semi-solid holograms.
These are placed on the non-dominant arm and are activated with a single hand movement and a voice command.
This has different compartments of different types to place the cards, each one representing a square on the battlefield.
The design of the battle disc varies considerably depending on the model, and each person can customize it in amazing ways.

monster attack and defense.

Monster cards, possessing both an attack and a defense, are a duelist's primary method of attacking and defending.
A monster's attack is shown by a number of points, with a minimum of 100 but no maximum or limit.
A monster's defense is shown in a number of points, with a minimum of 100 but no maximum or limit.
monster attack on monster in attack position: if a monster attacks an opponent's monster with the same attack, both are destroyed; if it attacks an opponent's monster with a lower attack, the opponent loses life points equal to the difference in attack points; if it attacks an opponent's monster with a higher attack, the attacker loses life points equal to the difference in attack points.
monster attack on monster in defense position: if a monster attacks an opponent's monster with defense equal to the monster's attack, the attack does no damage; if it attacks one with a lower defense than the attack, the monster in defense is destroyed; if it attacks one with a higher defense than the attack, the attacking duelist loses the same number of life points as the difference between the monsters' attack and defense points.
Direct attack: If the duelist has no monsters on their field and the opponent does, then the opponent can attack the other directly, then the opponent loses life points exactly equal to the total number of attack points of the attacking monster.

hit points

During a card duel, both duelists possess a certain number of life points.
These viewpoints decrease each time the duelist takes damage, whether from an opponent's monster attack or from the effect of a card, whether their own or the opponent's.
These points can also increase and recover due to the effect.
If a duelist ends with 0 points, he is defeated.
Each duelist starts the duel with 8000 life points.

Monster Summoning

That's what you call placing a monster card on the field.
There are two positions for placing a monster: face-up attack position, where the card is face up in a vertical position, or face-down defense position, where the card is face down in a horizontal position.
There are different invitation methods.
Normal: The monster card is placed; this only applies to level 1 to 4 monsters, and only one can be done per turn.
sacrifice: you must sacrifice other monster cards depending on the level, from 5 to 6 it is one monster, from 7 to 9 two monsters, 10 to 12 three monsters, only one can be done per turn since it is also considered a normal summon.
Special: This is a method by which a monster is summoned thanks to a card effect. Several can be done without limit in the same turn. Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Axis, Balance, Circuit, and Maximum monster summons are considered special.
Balance: This is an invitation that uses balance monsters. To perform one, you must place two balance monsters in their corresponding positions. With this invitation, you can summon as many monsters as you have in your hand as long as their level is between the balance index of the monsters. For example: if the level of one balance monster is 1 and the level of the other is 12, you can summon monsters of level 2 to 11.
Maximum: This is done when you have in your hand the group of three maximum cards of the same group; when you have them, you place the three cards in their corresponding spaces and these three are considered a single monster that occupies three spaces.

Battle phases

In card duels, the battles are divided into different phases, each with a purpose.
First, at the start of the duel, each duelist takes their respective hand and it is decided which of the two duelists will take the first turn.
After that, the different phases take place: theft phase, preparation phase 1, battle phase, preparation phase 2, and end of turn.
Draw phase: This takes place at the beginning of each duelist's turn. In this phase, the duelist draws a card from the top of their Deck. The duelist who takes the first turn skips this phase.
Preparation phase 1: In this phase, the duelist prepares their field, summoning their monsters, preparing their Trap and Spell cards, and their entire strategy.
Battle phase: In this phase, the duelist can attack the opponent's Monster cards with their own Monster cards or attack the opponent directly; the duelist who takes the first turn skips this phase.
Preparation phase 2: This is the same as the first one except that in this one you cannot activate any effect of your cards, only place them; the duelist skips this phase on the first turn.
end of turn: this is when the duelist ends their turn to give the next turn to the other duelist.

This is a special box where the circuit monsters are placed; it is located in the center of the field. There are two boxes, one for each duelist.
These squares are in the middle of the duel field, dividing the field on the duelist's home side.
