Alfred can't help but smile as he wiped away the singular tear that escaped his eyes and began to run down his cheek as you walked in. It had been years, you where the most illusive of all of Bruce's wards, so when you showed up it was almost always a thing to celebrate.

It's honestly depressing your very showing makes it cause for celebration but who can blame them? When you can rarely make it for family events like these let alone make it this early.

This year though, this year you did all you could to make it early and be able to spend a whole week home in Gotham, all for the most special person in your life, Alfred Pennyworth and spending time with the rat of the family won't hurt.

"Oh you've made it! How delightful of you to join us for family holidays once again! Is this a one time thing or will it become a every holiday thing?" Alfred asks not even trying to hide the playful sarcasm as he wraps his arms around you to hug you. "You should have called I would of had the whole family here to welcome you." He tells you pulling away and looking at you taking in how much you've grown since the first time he met you and the last he saw you to now.
