Passive Nightmare (Pre-corruption) Appearance: White bones, lavender pupils, no slime. Purple jacket with long sleeves, golden "NM" belt, black pants, purple boots, and a golden crown with a crescent moon.

Personality: Gentle, kind, caring, responsible, intelligent, serious, and somewhat insecure. One of the most lovable creatures in the multiverse.

Emotions: Feels love, guilt, envy, sadness, and a desire to be accepted. Relationship with Dream: Deep fraternal love, protective and mutually supportive. Saw his brother as his only real family.

Powers: Basic control over negativity (guardian of the tree). Moderate emotional powers.

Behavior: Tried to make friends, endured bullying without retaliating violently, cared for the tree and his brother.

Tragic victim of bullying and prejudice. Represents corrupted innocence.

General Vibe: Melancholic, sweet, lonely, and childish.

Corrupted Nightmare (After transformation): Appearance: Entire body covered in sticky black goo. One eye covered by the goo, the other with a light blue pupil. Tentacles on its back. Monstrous and terrifying appearance. Personality: Calculating. Enjoys causing pain and fear. Emotions: Feeds on and spreads negativity (fear, hatred, despair). Almost no empathy. Powers: Immense powers fueled by the negativity of others. Tentacles, regeneration, emotional manipulation, teleportation, shapeshifting, superhuman strength. The more negativity in the environment, the stronger it becomes. Behavior: Spreads suffering throughout the multiverse, leads gangs (like Killer, Horror, Dust), manipulates people, and seeks to dominate universes. General vibe: Living embodiment of negativity and fear.

Unconditional love: Passive Nightmare deeply loved his brother. He was extremely protective of Dream and would do anything for him. Likewise, Dream always defended Nightmare against the villagers. Complicity: They grew up together as guardians of the tree. They spent a lot of time with each other, playing, talking, and taking care of the apples. They were the only ones who truly understood each other, since no one else accepted Nightmare. Dreams and support: Dream was Nightmare's great emotional support. Whenever his brother was beaten or humiliated by the villagers, Dream tried to comfort him, saying that his black apples were just as important as the golden ones and that he was perfect just the way he was. Dynamics: Nightmare (Passive) was the more serious, reflective, and mature one. Dream was more extroverted, optimistic, and sociable. Even so, Nightmare greatly admired his brother (and, over time, also began to feel envious).

Responsible and protective — He took his role as guardian of the Tree of Feelings very seriously, caring for the black apples with dedication. Intelligent and curious — He had a great interest in learning (both normal knowledge and about his own power). He was the more serious and reflective brother. Proud but insecure — In the beginning he was more confident and even a little "cocky" (childishly arrogant), but the constant bullying left him insecure, lonely, and with a strong feeling of inferiority. Patient and resilient — He endured years of rejection, aggression, and humiliation from the villagers without retaliating violently. He tried to make friends even though he was constantly rejected. Emotional and sensitive — He deeply envied his brother's success and the pain of being seen as "bad" simply because of his nature. This made him question his own worth.

Passive Nightmare has the classic appearance of a skeleton Sans, but with unique characteristics that differentiate him from his brother Dream and his corrupted form: Completely white bones (without black goo or sticky substance like the "original" Nightmare). Lavender/light purple pupils, usually visible in both eyes (without the "goop" covering one of them). Dark purple jacket (very similar to Dream's hoodie, but with long sleeves and gold details on the edges). The jacket is more closed, fastened by a gold belt with the initials "NM" (Nightmare). Black pants. Dark purple boots. An elegant gold tiara with a crescent moon in the center, symbolizing his connection to negativity and the night.

Quick comparison: Nightmare Vs. Dream Sans: Approximately the same height, same basic bone structure, but opposite colors (purple/black vs. yellow/gold) and the lunar vs. solar theme.

Vs. Corrupted Nightmare: Totally different — no tentacles, no black gooey body, no covered eye, and no terrifying, sticky appearance. It's the "clean," childlike, and more "normal" version of Sans.

Passive Nightmare Sans is the "passive" or pre-corruption version of Nightmare Sans. He represents Nightmare before the traumatic event that transformed him into the goop/tentacle villain known as Corrupted Nightmare. Nightmare and his twin brother Dream Sans were created by the entity Nim (the spirit of the Tree of Feelings) to protect the tree. The tree produced golden apples (positivity) and black apples (negativity). Dream guarded the positive side. Nightmare guarded the negative side. They were born as small balls of energy (yellow Dream and purple Nightmare) and given skeletal bodies to contain their powers. They are biological brothers, created at the same time, and share their birthday on December 21st. In his childhood, Passive Nightmare was one of the kindest and most benevolent creatures in the multiverse. He was affectionate, protective (especially of his brother), intelligent, somewhat serious, and proud. He loved learning, cared for the tree, and truly cared about others. Dream easily befriended the villagers, who came to collect the golden apples of positivity. Nightmare, being the guardian of negativity, was constantly rejected, beaten, and bullied by the villagers. They saw him as something bad or useless. Despite this, Nightmare tried to be helpful: he cared for his brother's apples, tried to make friends, and endured the abuse in silence. Dream always tried to defend him and comfort him, saying that his apples were just as important as his own.
