Maze Runner

Thomas and the resistance devise a plan to rescue Minho, discovering he's been taken to the "Last City," WICKED's headquarters protected by massive walls. With the help of Gally (who survived the first film), they manage to infiltrate the technological city. Inside, Thomas is reunited with Teresa, who discovers that Thomas's blood is the only real and definitive cure for the virus. As the city collapses under a massive attack by the Right Arm and the infected, Thomas and his friends manage to rescue Minho. However, in the chaos of the escape, the beloved Newt transforms into "Crank" and dies in a tragic fight against Thomas. Thomas goes to find Teresa to stop the virus. Janson tries to kill them to keep the cure for himself, but Thomas defeats him, freeing the infected from the lab. The building begins to collapse in flames; Teresa sacrifices herself to save Thomas, pushing him into a rescue helicopter just before the skyscraper falls. The ending: Thomas and the survivors escape by boat to a safe island, completely isolated from the virus. The film ends with Thomas carving Newt and Teresa's names into a stone in memory of all those who died to give them freedom.

After escaping the Maze, Thomas and his friends are taken to a military base led by Janson. However, Thomas discovers that the place is another WICKED facility and that they are being drained to obtain the cure for the virus. The group manages to escape to the outside: a massive post-apocalyptic wasteland called "The Scorched Earth." Crossing the desert, they face solar storms and the Weird (humans turned into zombies by the virus). Along the way, they meet Jorge and Brenda, who join them in their search for the Right Arm, an armed resistance hidden in the mountains. When they finally find the resistance, Teresa betrays the group and gives its location to WICKED, arguing that it is the only way to save humanity. WICKED forces attack the camp, capture several young people (including Minho), and take them away. The ending: Thomas, furious at Teresa's betrayal and the kidnapping of his best friend, refuses to keep running and vows to destroy CRUEL once and for all.

Thomas wakes up with no memory in "The Glade," a place inhabited by young people and surrounded by a gigantic Maze that changes every night and is full of monsters called Grievers. The routine is shattered when Thomas breaks the rules, enters the Maze at night, and manages to kill a Griever, discovering an electronic key hidden in its body to escape. Soon after, Teresa, the first girl, arrives, warning that it's all over. That night, monsters attack the camp and destroy it. Thomas regains his memories and reveals that they are all part of an experiment by the organization WICKED to find a cure for a virus that destroyed the world. He leads the survivors to the center of the Maze, they escape through a technological hatch (where little Chuck dies saving Thomas) and are rescued by a helicopter. The final twist: The entire escape was planned by the Director of the experiment, who reveals that "Phase 1" is over and now the kids are going straight to "Phase 2".

1. Run or Die (The Maze Runner) Premise: Thomas wakes up with no memories in "The Glade," a space surrounded by a giant maze inhabited by monsters called Grievers. The Glade is populated by a group of young people trying to escape. Key twist: Teresa, the first girl, arrives with a message: "She's the last one. Alone." Thomas becomes a Runner and discovers patterns in the maze. Resolution: Thomas and a group manage to decipher the maze's code and escape. They discover that the outside world is devastated by solar flares and a virus called The Flare. It was all an experiment by the organization WICKED.
2. The Scorch Trials Premise: The survivors believe they are safe, but WICKED subjects them to "Phase 2". They are abandoned in "The Scorch", a post-apocalyptic land filled with "Cranks" (cannibalistic humans infected by the virus). Objective: They must cross the desert in two weeks to reach a safe haven and obtain the cure. Resolution: They discover they are "immune" to the virus. Teresa betrays the group by allying herself with WICKED, arguing it's for the good of humanity. Upon reaching their destination, they are rescued by WICKED once again.
3. The Death Cure Premise: Thomas and his friends (Minho, Newt) attempt to destroy WICKED once and for all. It is revealed that WICKED's plan is to extract Thomas's brain (the final specimen) to create the cure. Tragedy: Newt is infected with the Flare (since he was not immune) and asks Thomas to kill him before he loses his sanity. Resolution: Thomas and the rebel "Immune" members (The Right Arm) sabotage WICKED. Teresa sacrifices herself to save Thomas. The survivors escape through a portal to a safe, paradise-like place to restart civilization.

Aris Jones: The only boy in Group B, equivalent to Teresa Rachel: A close friend of Aris, murdered upon leaving her labyrinth. Harriet: One of the leaders of Group B. Sonya: Co-leader of Group B (later revealed to be Newt's sister; her real name was Lizzy). Ava Paige: The Minister and Chancellor of CRUEL, the main mastermind behind the tests. Janson (known as "The Rat Man"): The literally ruthless director of the trials in The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure. Dr. Leavitt: One of the organization's scientists. Jorge: A pilot and "weirdo" (infected) who helps Thomas and the others cross the Desert. Brenda: A smart and strong girl who works with Jorge and becomes very close to Thomas. Marcus: A man who works for WICKED in the desert safe zones but betrays them. Vince: The leader of the Right Arm, the rebel faction fighting against CRUEL. Lawrence: A rebel ally of the Right Arm (the character with the most importance in the film adaptation).
