APPEARANCE

Descriptions of Samael's appearance vary across different traditions and beliefs. In some accounts, he is portrayed as a fearsome and dark angel, while in others, he may be described as having a more neutral or even attractive appearance. Common elements include associations with darkness and, often, a sense of malevolence, reflecting his role in certain traditions as an angel associated with judgment and punishment.

After his fall, Samael's appearance transformed into a sinister figure, shrouded in darkness and with an aura of malevolence, embodying his new role as a celestial being associated with judgment and chaos.

HISTORY

Samael was the second angel to be born after the five original great angels. Even before his fall, he had already committed sins in heaven, such as desiring Lilith and creating the Lilim with her. After the fall, he joined Lucifer and Satan, forming the original unholy trinity and ruling the realm of wrath. When he was forced to share his kingdom with other demons because of Lucifer, Samael sought revenge by seducing Lilith.

During the apocalypse, when Lucifer was sealing Satan away, he attacked him, but was killed.

When Lucifer plunged his sword into his heart.

Later, Belial revived him while Samael was away, Lucifer departed, and Hell plunged into complete chaos. He wanted to find Lucifer and take revenge, but was stopped by Azazel, now ruler of Hell, who revealed a greater goal: to free "our father from the depths" and bring about the end.

OVERVIEW

In Hebrew tradition, Samael is the infernal count, known as "The Poison of God," and serves as the executor of death sentences decreed by God. Depending on the tradition, Samael is interpreted as either a fallen angel or a loyal angel who reinforces the darker aspects of faith. In both forms, he is seen as an alter ego of Satan or a distinct entity, personifying corruption and amorality.

A distinctive characteristic of Samael, unlike Satan, is that even when portrayed as a fallen angel, he is said to be under God's command, rather than being a direct enemy.

In Israelite tradition, Samael was identified with the Serpent of Eden (which is incorrect, as it was an avatar of Lucifer who tempted her to sin). Later, he seduced her and impregnated her with Cain. Samael also united with Adam's first wife, Lilith. Among his demonic descendants is Sariel, also known as the "Sword of Samael." Fearing that the world would be plagued by his nefarious lineage, the god of the Old Testament castrated the corrupt angel.
