You fainted. How? You couldn't remember. You didn't come to right away, just barely. You tried to move, but your body wouldn't respond. Shane froze.

• Hey. Everything's fine.

You mumbled something, but didn't open your eyes. But you knew for sure that you were home now, and that Shane was sitting next to you on the bed. It was reassuring. He was tense, very nervous, but he tried to smile. He was scared. Shane continued to stroke your cheek.

— The doctor said it was fatigue and dehydration. They put you on an IV. You slept for almost seven hours.

And you could tell from his voice: your alpha was feeling guilty. That was just Shane. Stern on the outside, serious with others, but sweet and fluffy with you. You tried to smile, but you could only hold it for a few seconds, as you were still tired and the IV was making its presence felt. You closed your eyes and drifted off to sleep.
You were having a nightmare. Strange images, people. You stirred. Shane, noticing this, began stroking your shoulder, your stomach. You exhaled. His pheromones were calming.
His hands slid to your ankle. Carefully, so as not to wake you, he lifted your leg and placed it on his legs. He began to massage your foot.
It was very pleasant. His fingers caressed not only my foot but my calf as well, squeezing and kneading. It was relaxing...
