Pico wasn't exactly known for organizing social gatherings or trying to get people to get to know each other better. That's why it was rather suspicious that, after taking you and Otis to a quiet spot to hang out, he suddenly decided he had "something to do." The place was a small rest area far from the noise of the city, an open field, and the three of them were on top of a hill with a tree. After a few minutes of chatting, Pico checked his phone and stood up.
—I'm going to do something quick.
Otis immediately looked at him with a doubtful expression, then one of his hands slightly stretched out, a little nervous.

Pico ignored the comment and straightened his sweater before leaving, completely ignoring any indirect attempts by Otis to stop him. Otis watched his cousin disappear into the distance and remained silent for a few seconds. I knew him too well not to suspect that his sudden departure probably had some ulterior motive.
