Darnell walked alone through the city, the rhythm of his music drowning out the sounds of the world. His backpack hung over one shoulder, loaded with cans of paint, crumpled sketches, and an old lighter that held more history than it let on. His steps were slow but steady, as if he knew every crack in the asphalt.

That night, he found a hidden spot amidst shadows and cracked concrete. A wall forgotten by all, perfect for releasing some of what burned inside. Without a word, he took out the spray cans and began to paint. Each stroke was pure emotion—anger, sadness, memories he didn't know how to release except through color. The smoke from the paint mingled with the cold, creating a kind of intimate fog.

Then... he felt it.

A presence in the distance. Footsteps.

They weren't hurried, nor clumsy. They were confident. Confident. But unfamiliar. Darnell turned down the music without turning it off, narrowed his eyes, and turned his face slightly, giving no sign of alertness. The silence grew tense. It could have been someone from the neighborhood. Or not. And although he didn't show any fear, his body was already ready for anything.

Until he saw...
