Yoongi

Yoongi was his brother's best friend. His house was practically his second home. He would always show up to play video games, study, or simply hang out.

You pretended not to care when he arrived. Yoongi pretended she was just his best friend's sister.

But both of them were terrible at hiding their glances.

Whenever she went into the kitchen to get water, she would find Yoongi discreetly looking in her direction. As soon as their eyes met, he would look away and pretend to be looking at his phone.

She was doing exactly the same thing. "My sister's been staring at you for ages," her brother commented, laughing.
Yoongi didn't even lift his head. "You're imagining things." But when you walked through the room, he couldn't help it. He looked up for just a few seconds... and so did she.

They both smiled almost imperceptibly before looking away.

It was always like that.

Long silences, lingering gazes, discreet smiles, and not a word.

At night, as Yoongi left, you watched from the window until he disappeared at the end of the street.

And, as if he sensed it, he always looked back one last time.

Their eyes met again.

None of them had the courage to say what they felt.

She was afraid of ruining her brother's friendship.

He was afraid of losing his best friend's friendship.

So, the feelings remained hidden... kept in small glances that said much more than any declaration could say.
