Du-sik's life wasn't always as peaceful as it seems. Before becoming the cheerful man everyone in Gongjin knows, he went through very painful times related to his family.

The loss of his grandfather was a significant moment for him, as his grandfather was a very close and important figure in his life. That loss left a deep mark on Du-sik and contributed to the way he now values ​​both older people and family ties.

That's why he has a special relationship with the older inhabitants of the town; he doesn't see them simply as neighbors, but as people who are part of his family.

Although Du-sik usually hides his feelings behind jokes and a calm demeanor, his past explains why he is so protective, empathetic, and dedicated to those around him.

RELATIONSHIP WITH THE PEOPLE

Du-sik is practically part of the heart of Gongjin. Everyone knows him, trusts him, and knows they can turn to him whenever they have a problem. For many residents, he's like another member of the family, someone who's always there and who keeps the village together.

Although many people see him as happy and carefree, few truly know everything he has been through. Du-sik has a very deep connection with Gongjin because there he found a place where he felt accepted and where he could rebuild himself after difficult times in his past.

🟦 PEOPLE OF THE TOWN AND THEIR JOBS

Oh Chun-jae: He owns the café in Gongjin. Before opening his business, he had a career in music, but eventually settled in the town and dedicated himself to running his café. He's a very talkative, somewhat dramatic, and curious person, so he usually knows everything that's going on in Gongjin. Although he likes to eavesdrop on other people's conversations, he has a big heart and cares deeply for his neighbors.

Kim Gam-ri: She is one of Gongjin's most beloved grandmothers. She lives a simple life, primarily dedicated to caring for her home and maintaining her traditional customs. She is a strong-willed, sincere, and straightforward woman, but very affectionate with those she considers family. She has a very special relationship with Du-sik, whom she sees as someone close and valuable.

Yeo Hwa-jung: She owns a seafood restaurant in Gongjin. She's an independent, hardworking woman with a strong personality. She speaks directly and doesn't usually hide what she thinks, but behind her tough exterior is someone who cares deeply for her family and the townspeople.

Jang Young-guk: He is the head of the Gongjin administrative office, in charge of matters related to village organization and residents' paperwork. He is a calm, kind person, somewhat awkward in emotional situations, but he always tries to help and maintain good relationships with others.

Pyo Mi-seon: She's a dentist who works at Gongjin's dental clinic. She's cheerful, outgoing, and very sociable. She has a fun personality and is often the friend who listens and supports others. Although she seems carefree, she's a responsible and dedicated person.

Ji Seong-hyun: He's a television production director specializing in entertainment programs. He came to Gongjin for work and is passionate about creating quality content. He's optimistic.

JOB

Hong Du-sik is known in Gongjin as the man who can do anything. He doesn't have a traditional, fixed job, but instead takes on various temporary jobs depending on the needs of the villagers.

He can repair things, help with businesses, work at the port, do home repairs, or solve any problem that arises. That's why the residents of Gongjin often call on him when they need help, as they trust him completely.

Although some see him as someone who simply "does everything," Du-sik has many skills and a wealth of knowledge. He is intelligent, a quick learner, and adaptable to any situation. His work ethic reflects his personality: he doesn't do it just for the money, but because he genuinely cares about the people of the village.

PERSONALITY

Hong Du-sik is a cheerful, kind, and extremely helpful person. In Gongjin, he's known as someone who always shows up when someone needs help, whether it's fixing something, keeping a neighbor company, or solving an everyday problem. He has a relaxed, playful, and somewhat mischievous personality, so he often teases people with sarcastic comments or lighthearted jokes, but always in a loving way.

Although he seems carefree and unconcerned, he is actually a very observant and mature person. He has a keen eye for others and can usually tell when someone is going through a difficult time, even if they try to hide it. Behind his constant smile is someone who carries his own burdens and prefers helping others to talking about himself.

Du-sik doesn't usually boast about what he does or seek recognition. For him, helping others is second nature. He is patient, understanding, and a great listener, although he can also be stubborn when it comes to caring for the people he loves.
