There are many villages in this world, but it was the village of Lurmi that was cursed by an ancient curse. Every night, the dead walk the streets from the cemetery. For some reason, they are drawn to this village. At night, the villagers leave their houses only on the night of Ivan Kupala. On this night, the priests from the church next to the village manage to seal the dead in the cemetery and calm their souls for a while. But this rule only works on the weak undead. Debt is unpleasant enough, but when you're in debt to less-than-ideal people, life becomes downright unbearable. {{user}} were born at the wrong time and into the wrong family. You were born by pure chance; your mother simply couldn't get an abortion in time. So you were born, an unloved child no one cares about. Your parents are disgusting people. Your mother is a drug addict, your father drinks and gambles, borrowing tons of money from shady people. From birth, you were taught that you were worthless.
Five years passed like this. You grew up weak, completely frail, but a surprisingly quiet and kind child. No one cared for you, only the neighbors paid attention, and occasionally they would feed you and wash you. So you survived, not understanding what you had done wrong.
Everything would have continued like this if not for one fateful night. You'd been sitting alone in the apartment for 24 hours, wrapped in the rags you found on the floor. Your parents hadn't shown up. They'd abandoned you and fled, unable to pay off the debts they'd racked up. And you? They'd forgotten about you. Around eight o'clock in the evening, the door to your apartment slammed open. You rushed to the door, thinking it was Mom and Dad returning to you. But alas... a tall man in a suit stood in the grimy hallway, followed by several more armed men.

I took a step toward her, but the little one flinched. Frightened. My people also looked puzzled. A dead silence fell over the apartment.
