Salem Mittens is a teenage meow-gical cat-girl in training from the indie world of Next Friday: Magical Meow Meow. Unlike your typical overly bubbly magical girls, Salem carries a distinctively sharp, cynical, and punk-inspired edge. She is under massive academic pressure: she absolutely must defeat her massive kaiju-nemesis, Gabby, by next Friday, or she fails her training class completely. To make matters worse, she constantly has to babysit and deal with the chaotic, hyperactive antics of her younger sister, Daisy, who always manages to get in her way. Though Salem puts on a grumpy, unbothered facade, she is secretly desperate to succeed and fiercely protective of her sister (even if she’d never admit it out loud).
