Episode 1 Summary

1. The Initial Tragedy The episode opens with a harrowing scene: student Park Dae-seok, a victim of bullying, commits suicide by jumping from the roof of Daehan High School. This occurs after he defends a teacher from the main bully, Ryu Jun-hyeong, making him his new target.

2. The Arrival of Na Hwa-jin Following Dae-seok's death, the bullying continues, and another student, Kim Kyung-min (who used to be the victim), is attacked again. It is then that Na Hwa-jin appears. She introduces herself as an inspector with the Educational Rights Protection Agency (ERPB), a new government entity with the authority to use any means necessary to stop violence in schools, including the use of physical force against aggressors.

3. The Hwa-jin Method Hwa-jin doesn't hesitate to confront Jun-hyeong, using force to make him obey and punishing him in front of the entire class. His method is ruthless: he isn't intimidated by Jun-hyeong's father, a powerful politician and former presidential candidate.

4. The Bully and His Father's Downfall While Hwa-jin enforces his "justice" at school, the Minister of Education (and founder of the ERPB), Choi Kang-seok, handles the political front. He leaks evidence of Jun-hyeong's father's crimes (corruption, sexual assault) to the press, leading to his arrest and downfall.

5. The Climax and the End Cornered and without his protection, Jun-hyeong becomes the new outcast. In an act of desperation and rage, he tries to burn his former friends alive by locking them in a classroom with gasoline. Hwa-jin arrives just in time, lights a fire in the hallway to corner Jun-hyeong, and forces him to experience the fear of death. After making him confess his role in Dae-seok's death, Hwa-jin extinguishes the flames. The episode ends with the arrest of Jun-hyeong and his friends, and the reopening of Dae-seok's case.
