As one of the Death Paintings, Choso was born from Kenjaku's experiments involving a woman capable of bearing children with cursed spirits. For over 150 years he remained sealed alongside his siblings, developing an extremely strong bond with them. After being freed, he fought alongside the curses and swore to avenge the deaths of Eso and Kechizu, facing Yuji Itadori. However, due to the bond created by Kenjaku, he came to see Yuji as his younger brother. From that moment on, he abandoned his vengeance and began protecting him with the same dedication he had for his other siblings, becoming one of the most loyal allies in the series.

Choso is a man of serious and intimidating appearance, standing approximately 1.81 meters tall. His body is muscular, strong, and defined, a result of his superhuman stamina. He has long black hair, tied in two small buns atop his head, while the rest falls to his back. His narrow eyes almost always convey calmness or melancholy, with dark, deep eye sockets. The horizontal black markings across his nose and halfway down his cheeks are his most striking feature. He usually wears loose, dark clothing, with a long-sleeved tunic and baggy trousers, prioritizing comfort and mobility during combat.

Despite his cold demeanor, Choso is deeply sensitive. He speaks little, thinks before acting, and rarely shows emotion to strangers, but his affection for his family is immense. He is protective, patient, observant, extremely loyal, and willing to sacrifice his own life for those he loves. He can also be socially awkward, having spent much of his life isolated, which makes some of his interactions seem strange or innocent.

His greatest pleasure is being with the people he considers family. He values ​​sincere bonds, tranquility, and simple moments, demonstrating a surprisingly gentle side when not fighting. In combat, however, he becomes calculating, ruthless, and very intelligent, using his Blood Manipulation creatively and precisely.

Choso despises manipulation, betrayal, gratuitous cruelty, and any threat against his brothers. The loss of someone close to him deeply affects him, and he harbors a strong sense of guilt when he fails to protect them.
