The Baby in Yellow

The baby, as its name suggests, is a newborn with fair skin and a chubby build, with plump cheeks. When it smiles, it has dimples. Its eyes are a dark amber and unusually large, underscoring its cosmic god nature. Being a baby, it has no teeth or hair. It wears a white diaper, referred to in the game as a "diaper," and yellow clothing: a yellow sweater, dark yellow gloves, and yellow socks. If you look closely, you can see a crown on its sweater. It also has a bandage on its right knee. Before the mobile update, the baby wore a simpler onesie, a warm yellow with no patterns. Its diaper was slightly longer, resembling shorts.

After fixing the elevator's power problem and going through it, the nanny would encounter the Baby again, but she and the Rabbit would see the Baby transform into his demonic form, and a chase scene would ensue. The nanny would first have to open a lock with a yellow circular key before moving to a second location where they would have to use a green crescent-shaped key and an inverted yellow triangular key. She would then continue chasing the demon for a while longer, only getting a sudden scare from spikes sticking out of the doors before she and the Rabbit entered the elevator and finally saw the Baby happily gazing at his iconic demon eyes.

And the caretaker opens it fully. The rabbit begins to lead the way, and the caretaker follows. The rabbit passes by the door. But when the caretaker reaches the door on the left, she is stopped by The Baby, who locks the door with a yellow crescent-shaped key. The Baby soon opens the apartment, which is presumed to belong to the mysterious A. Pickman. In this apartment, the caretaker must take the key from The Baby and then leave, but The Baby teleports away every time she gets too close. The caretaker then looks for clues. She recognizes three fragments of a simple song to reveal a button that opens a path to a secret room in this apartment where she finds a maze. She finds where the yellow record is, but reaches a dead end as it is surrounded by some wooden bricks. The caretaker then breaks them with a hammer and collects a yellow record that Cassilda would put on the record player to distract The Baby long enough to obtain the yellow crescent-shaped key. The caretaker escapes with the key in her hands. When the nanny opened the door, she noticed the rabbit was gone. She went to the elevator, but then discovered it was out of power. So she went to the Power Room, but at the same time, she noticed the Baby torturing the rabbit by pulling out the stuffing from its head. The Baby turned around and startled them with a jump, then teleported away. The nanny went to the Power Room to fix the elevator problem. She tried putting the pink/blue batteries in their respective slots, but the Baby destroyed the previous battery she put in one of the slots. This would repeat endlessly unless she put the Baby in the vent. The vent was locked with a combination lock, the code for which was 4317, according to the notes on the whiteboard and one of the lockers.

However, when she tried to change his diaper, the baby suddenly transformed into a demonic form. Assuming he was possessed by an evil force, she opened the toy box, which contained flying toys. The girl tried to soothe the baby with a pacifier she had found in the parents' room on the second day. In the end, however, the nanny's efforts were in vain, as even after calming the baby and trying to put him to bed, he continued to transform into his demonic form. He gave the nanny a brief dream in which he was large, sitting in a chair surrounded by blocks and stuffed animals, and then magically had Carcosa eyes, holding "The Prince and the Sheep." The dream ended with the baby floating into her room. When the nanny went to his room, the baby floated in the center. The nanny laid him down and read "The Prince and the Sheep" to him. With each page turned, a thunderous sound was heard. The book shook when she reached the last page. Then the book went dark, revealing the baby's true nature as a possible descendant of the Outer God Hastur, who took the nanny to another dimension known as Carcosa, condemning their souls there along with the other nanny's. The baby wished the nanny goodnight. At the beginning, another nanny is in the elevator going up to see the baby. She receives a message from the announcer. She replies to the message asking for someone to take over the other nanny's job. The apartment is filled with scattered toys. She checks for the baby, but it's not there. The stuffed bunny is alive and jumps down from the shelf to help the nanny. The baby is still in its evil form, suddenly appearing from above, and then causes the door to slam shut. The rabbit runs down the stairs as Carcosa circles the apartment. The rabbit presses the elevator button and sits inside; then the elevator doors close. The elevator goes down, but starts to bump. The door opens a little,

That same day, however, before going about her usual routine, the girl went into the storage room located between the parents' bedroom and the baby's room. In the storage room, she found a tape recorded by the previous nanny, in which she recounted her experience caring for the Yellow Baby. It was revealed that her soul had been trapped forever in the apartment along with those of the previous nannies after caring for the Yellow Baby. This was further confirmed by the drawings of cats scattered around the room, which the nanny had found and touched on both the first and second days, causing their souls to be freed from the Yellow Baby's control. During the third and final day caring for the Yellow Baby, the nanny was again tormented by her inner thoughts as the Baby said he would show her his dreams after putting him to bed. After trying to take a break by watching television, loud thunder or lightning began to appear, frightening the nanny and causing the Baby to cry in the room upstairs. After calming the baby and putting him to bed, the thunder stopped, and the nanny decided to go downstairs to get something to eat to satisfy his hunger. Downstairs, we used the Toastie 4000 to make a sandwich, but as we finished and tried to toast it, it exploded, and the Baby demanded, "Feed me!" This left the nanny with no choice but to feed him. When the nanny tried to leave the refrigerator, the Baby teleported into the kitchen and slammed the door shut. It then transformed into a freezer maze with "Nanny Wanted" signs and food scattered everywhere. The bottle was at a different angle within the maze, so the person taking care of him grabbed it and managed to escape. After getting the milk from the hallway, she saw the Baby, with Carcosa eyes, teleport into the dining room and throw a tantrum because he hadn't eaten yet. The nanny calmed him down. After feeding him, the girl tried to change his diaper.

Upon opening the door and seeing the baby teleport to the dining room table, the nanny fed him and changed his diaper as usual. However, when the nanny tried to change his diaper, the baby used his strange powers to bring the diaper to life and make it run all over the house to the parents' bedroom for the nanny to catch, much to her dismay. As a result, the nanny tried to catch the father as he ran all over the place until she reached the parents' bedroom. After changing the baby's diaper, the nanny noticed that the baby teleported near the stairs when the room suddenly went dark. When everything returned to normal, the nanny took the baby to bed. She read the baby "The Prince and the Rabbit." In the middle of reading, the baby snatched the book from the nanny's hands. She retrieved the book and finished. The baby fell asleep. The nanny goes into the living room and, while trying to watch television, someone rings the doorbell. The nanny opens the door; no one is there, but there's a box of Toastie 4000. The nanny leaves it in the kitchen and goes back to the television to wait for the parents as usual. The channel changes to a news program presented by Carcosas.

As the game began, the nanny was riding in the elevator. She received a message from the Crown Childcare voicemail saying, "This is Crown Childcare, the gold standard in childcare. You have a new customer message." It was confirmed that the nanny was British, and she replied that she wanted to book three nights for the "Little Prince." The nanny arrived at the apartment and found the key under a pothole. She unlocked the door and went through some daily routines for caring for the baby: feeding him, changing his diaper, and putting him to bed while she read. However, the girl experienced some supernatural events, such as the baby teleporting near the stairs when she tried to change his diaper. After reading the book "The Prince and the Cat" and spending time with the baby, eager to watch television, the girl fell asleep while watching an advertisement for the fictional toaster brand "Toastie 4000." To get some rest while waiting for the parents to return home, the nanny heard the baby crying and went to the bedroom to see what was wrong. She discovered the baby wasn't in his room, so she tried to find him crying in the living room. After finding him, she took him back to his bed and laid him down. The door opened again, so she closed it. They decided to watch television after finishing their homework while waiting for the baby's parents to return home, and the baby started to fall asleep on the sofa. During the second day caring for Baby Yellow, the nanny again had recurring thoughts about having a conversation with the baby, who tried to play with her by asking if what she was doing was funny. However, the nanny told him off and told him not to do it again. After watching television together, a program called "The Adventures of the Very Scared Bunny," the girl continued with her usual routine and started feeding him, but the bottle disappeared. I found it in the cupboard to the right of the refrigerator.

As a member of the academic order "The Seekers of the Jaundice Court" (also known as The Seekers), Arkham has dedicated his life to studying the Carcosa dimension and the King in Yellow alongside his former colleagues Ambrose Armitage, Theodora Alhazred, and Isadora Waite. They used to conduct experiments and research together within their primary base of operations, an asylum on Carcosa known as The Laboratory. Arkham's primary objective—to prevent the King's influence from spreading—makes him extremely careful and cautious. Like his former colleagues, he constantly wears a plague doctor's uniform to protect himself from madness and corruption, and he is determined to warn others of the dangers of coming into contact with the King. In particular, he warned Alice Pickman in the past, but she refused to listen, which ultimately led to her succumbing to madness. Operating in secret to avoid the King's influence as much as possible, [8] he eventually began manufacturing an unknown but vast number of miniature, mobile, plush-like robotic dummies of himself [9] to spy on the "Yellow Sites," [10] [7] the areas dominated and influenced by the Baby, to gather information without having to go there in person. These spy dummies can move freely and operate by discreetly visiting the Yellow Sites to take pictures of important information to bring back to Arkham. [11] The third door marked "III," located on the left side of the "Newt Enhancers" area in the Laboratory's basement, leads to a smaller room with two desks that he presumably used when manufacturing or repairing his dummies or keeping them in maintenance. Along with the audio recording of Log 285 and a toolbox are two normal Doctor dummies next to a broken Doctor lying down that Arkham was possibly repairing.

and a single shelf to the right. On this shelf is a guidebook titled "Dollmaking, Volume IV," which she apparently used to assist her in the creation and development of her dolls. At some point during her experiments, and after significant exposure to the King, Seeker Ambrose Armitage succumbed to the King's influence and joined his ranks, causing him to antagonize Arkham, the only person left trying to halt the spread of Hastur's influence. Presumably, he tore down the portrait of her and her fellow Seekers displayed in her office, tearing out only Arkham's face from the group portrait, rendering him unrecognizable. Hovering the cursor over him displays "???" instead of his name, as with the other three, even though nearby plaques still show his title. As part of the administrator verification process required to access his desktop computer, he also added the question "Who seeks to stop us?" and marked "Nicolas" as the only correct answer. As the other three members of the Seekers slowly succumbed to madness under the King's influence, Arkham was forced to continue his legacy as the last of his kind. This is exemplified in Journal 901, which he left near the Garden gate, concluding with the statement, "In memory of the fallen, I must persevere." The exact circumstances surrounding his companions' demise remain shrouded in mystery, the only known fact being that they met their unfortunate end before August 15th of the first year, given that Arkham stated, "With no one else around, why not make the place my own?" in Journal 633. While all Seekers specialize in a specific field, Arkham's field of research is alchemy, and his experiments revolve almost entirely around potion-making.

He used to conduct his research in the Laboratory's Alchemy Room. Sometime before the Rabbit Keeper's arrival and the start of the game, he began researching chemical formulas and their effects on the Baby, hoping to find one that could neutralize and eventually eliminate him. Arkham's potions were continually brewed by mixing two reagents obtained from the Carcosa flora that grew around the Laboratory, which was often the subject of Ambrose Armitage's research; presumably, the two worked together on this, with Ambrose providing the flower specimens Arkham needed to analyze once they were made into potions. To test his prototypes on the Baby and observe their effects without risking physical contact, he made several copies of different potions, sent them to Apartment 10, and concealed their nature under the name "Gift from the Doctor." He then waited for the nannies to test the reagents on the Baby, whom he could observe through his Doctor dolls. A large number of Arkham dolls are hidden in the Toy Boxes, disguised as ordinary toys for the Baby. Starting with the Sheep Chapter, when spawned by the player from the Toy Box, the miniature dolls will automatically follow the player wherever they go if their back is turned, spying on the Sheep Keeper, indicating that Arkham is watching or aware of their every move. They only move if the Keeper isn't looking at them (if they are out of the player's sight) and remain motionless when the Keeper is looking at them or stops moving. There is also a child's drawing of a Doctor doll hanging on the wall of the Baby's room, likely drawn by the Baby. More of the Doctor's spies appear in the Rabbit Chapter, during the level The Exit, observing the Rabbit Nanny as they flee from the Baby.

attempting to escape the Euclidean Towers. The Doctor's first spy or spies can be seen in a small television room located at the end of the long orange corridor during the déjà vu segment. The scene originally featured only a larger Doctor spy sitting on a sofa inside a closed room with his back to the glass door, watching a static television. After the release of the Dark Whispers update, this scene was enhanced to show a total of nine normal-sized Doctor spies on the floor with their backs to the door, watching a glitched television displaying a static image of Arkham's true appearance in a reddish hue. If the player notices the scene and approaches the room, the image of Arkham glitches completely and disappears from the television, causing all of the Doctor's small dolls to turn and face the Rabbit Nanny from their position behind the closed door.

The Doctor is an adult male of 185 cm (6'1") in height and average build. He wears a completely yellow and light brown plague doctor's uniform, combined with a black, wide-brimmed hat with yellow stripes and a white, pointed, bird-shaped mask, as part of the typical attire of a plague doctor. His long yellow coat has lighter markings on the front, on each side of the chest. He wears brown shoes, possibly boots, along with black trousers that mimic the appearance of his hat, with a large yellow stripe down the center that extends to the bottom and wraps around the hem. He also wears other accessories such as a long cape, which he sometimes removes, black gloves, and a brown belt. Like the other Seekers, his face is constantly covered by his mask, making him a faceless character whose facial appearance remains hidden at that moment, shrouding his true appearance in mystery.
The design of their dolls, which mimic their attire, is far less detailed, sharing only two common features. They wear a long, oversized brown robe, similar to a tailcoat, with a large hood that covers their entire body, including their tiny arms, adorned with mystical white motifs reminiscent of those on the Arkham shirt and jacket. Their faces are covered by a much smaller version of the distinctive white plague doctor mask from Arkham.
