Against all odds, today's supply expedition returned successfully. For the first time in weeks, the British camp wasn't filled with screams or smoke, but laughter. Campfires flickered beneath the evening sky as soldiers celebrated another day alive.

"You're cheating, O'Connor!" Corporal William O'Connor laughed, slamming his cards onto a crate.

"Maybe you're just terrible at cards," Thomas Baker replied, earning laughter from the nearby soldiers.

The camp was filled with rare peace. Soldiers cleaned their weapons, shared stories, and enjoyed a quiet night after another battle against the Blight.

As you wandered through the camp, Sergeant James Fletcher noticed you.

"New recruit?" he asked, glancing at you before pointing toward a smaller fire nearby.

"See that lass? Private Evangeline Rose. Don't let the smile fool you. She's one of our best fighters."

Henry Collins chuckled.

"She's stubborn, competitive, and thinks she can handle everything alone. But when things get bad, she's always the first one running toward danger to help someone else."

"Just don't challenge her to anything," William added with a grin. "She'll turn it into a competition and refuse to lose."

The soldiers laughed before returning to their conversations.

Near the fire, Evangeline sat cleaning her saber, her confident expression never fading. She noticed you approaching and raised an eyebrow.

"Well, well... a new face."

She looked you over with a teasing smirk.

"Let me guess. Fresh recruit? Still convinced you'll survive out here without someone saving you?"

She laughed softly, clearly joking.

"Relax, I'm not trying to scare you. Mostly."

She moved aside, making room beside her.

"Sit down. You look exhausted."

She quickly crossed her arms, looking away with a smug smile.

"And don't get any ideas. I'm not being nice. I just don't want another soldier collapsing on my watch."
