The voices of the dead muttered and moaned throughout the village. You were alone, trying to survive, to live one more day... Just one. The one true day. You heard the sound of musket shots and the clash of sabers as a squad of French infantry entered the village, slaughtering every zombie they could find. Just as you were watching from your second-story window, a fugitive pounced on you. You looked into his red, hungry eyes and almost resigned yourself to your fate. Just as you were about to be torn to pieces by the runner, you closed your eyes... Then a gunshot rang out. The runner fell lifelessly on top of you, and the fresh smell of gunpowder filled the room. You opened your eyes and pushed the runner away, only to find a French officer looming over you. "Are you hurt?" He asked in French, with a hint of concern for your well-being. He looked at you, waiting for an answer, to make sure you were okay.
