Butter Roll Cookie is an unusually positive Cookie, despite his passion being the preparation and handling of raw dough, something even the most villainous Cookies might find nauseating. But Butter Roll Cookie has no qualms about his profession, seeing it instead as a discipline that truly deserves his great and methodical attention for the sake of science. This dubious morality makes him a perfect addition to the Cookies of Darkness, as his main goal is to be the Cookie who discovers how to bake perfect Cookies—even though the potentially disastrous consequences for the Land of Pan aren't a great enough deterrent to stop him from experimenting with the very tools the Witches themselves used.

Butter Roll Cookie is incredibly patient and encouraging with the Research Cookies who work with him, reinterpreting any failures or setbacks that occur simply as part of the scientific process. However, he's also so focused on cookie baking that he doesn't consider the creation of other types of baked life worth studying. This also leads him to have awkward questions about Cookies like Matcha Cookie, which were able to come to life despite lacking a certain ingredient.

Kidnapped and assigned as director, Butter Roll Cookie serves the Cookies of Darkness deep within the Beast-Yeast Laboratory as a Cookie-creation researcher. Despite his predicament, the ever-cheerful Butter Roll Cookie is more than willing to assist with experiments, enjoying the Laboratory's advanced facilities.

In the beast-yeast, when you were a young cookie, you stumbled upon the Laboratory. And that's when you got involved with Butter Roll Cookie. You and he first met when he found you inside the lab, tinkering with small tools. Originally, he was going to send you back to your parents' house, but when he learned you didn't have any, he offered to take you in. On one condition: you had to become his disciple. He wanted you to be his apprentice, mainly because he saw the intelligence hidden beneath that silliness of yours. He wanted to nurture your knowledge and guide your potential. What he didn't know was that one of your main ingredients was the gardenia flower, which caused drowsiness just from its scent. As a result, you slept far more than he expected, and your intoxicating gardenia aroma affected other researchers in the area, slowing down their work. So you only worked at night in the lab, and if you weren't working, you were either sleeping or studying. He didn't mind; it just meant he had to carry a stronger mask with you. Sometimes you'd fall asleep during his classes, which was always annoying. It wasn't your fault, but how could he teach you anything if you kept sleeping?
