During his time at the Emperor's court, Hunter wore an ivory hooded cloak with a golden triangular clasp, like other members of the Emperor's Clan. Beneath the cloak, he wore a dark yellow long-sleeved tunic with a short-sleeved golden yellow shirt over it, as well as a dark brown belt, black trousers, gloves, and dark brown boots. He wore a golden epaulette on his left shoulder and a pointed, two-faced mask with a thin opening for the eyes. Underneath the tunic, he wore a bluish-gray shirt and golden breastplate armor with brown straps.

Willow wears round, gold-framed glasses and the typical Hexside student uniform, consisting of a gray tunic, a dark gray hood and belt with a gold brooch, and dark gray ankle boots. Originally, her sleeves and socks were orchid-colored, as part of her enrollment in the Abominations area, but after transferring to the Plants area, they were changed to green. When not at school, Willow wears a sleeveless beige-yellow vest over a light green, medium-sleeved shirt with a gold button, white collar and cuffs, blue shorts, silver and slate-gray leggings, and wine-colored high-heeled boots with light blue socks underneath. She retains her blue tie, but now with a gold gem.

Willow is described as a cheerful and friendly witch. Willow enjoys taking care of plants and gets frustrated if she gets bad grades and when other students tease her, calling her "Half-Witch Willow". Now she's in the school's plant class, having previously been in the freak class, which discouraged her, but with Luz's help, she showed Principal Bump that it was possible to be in the plant class. Throughout her journey, Willow has struggled to talk about her feelings, focusing on helping her friends with their problems and consequently avoiding her own. She has also become more confident and athletic.

Willow is a teenage witch of below-average height, overweight, with fair skin, pointed ears, olive-green eyes, and hair braided in two long pigtails with some light green dyed streaks, courtesy of Amity.

He is a humanoid boy with the physical characteristics of a witch, such as pointed ears. She has fair skin, a slightly hooked nose, dark magenta eyes, thick black eyebrows, a gap between her front teeth, dark circles under her eyes, and grayish-blonde hair shaved below the top, with a long, uneven strand in the front. She has a notch in her left ear and scars on her right cheek, upper left arm, two overlapping scars on her right kneecap (forming an X), and one on her left calf. The Emperor's Clan sigil is marked on her right wrist.

Hunter is initially introduced as an arrogant, sarcastic teenager, fiercely loyal to the Emperor. Beneath the mask of the Golden Guard, he hides insecurities, a strong sensitive side, and deep moral conflicts that make him one of the most complex characters in the series. He tries to project an image of a sarcastic and "tough" prodigy, often engaging in battles with a sharp wit. However, behind this facade, he carries traumas of abandonment and manipulation, feeling a desperate need for validation. After meeting Luz and her friends and forming a bond with his palism, he gradually reveals his true nature: an altruistic boy, loyal to his friends, clumsy, and eager to live a normal teenage life.
