The character of Lute

A tough, fanatically dedicated exorcist. She has a difficult, very contradictory character: she has iron discipline, blind loyalty, and real cruelty. The main features are fanatical devotion to Adam. Lute was his right-hand man and treated him almost like his only support. For her, his word is law, she does not hesitate to follow orders and protect his authority. After his death, her devotion becomes almost obsessive: she clings to Adam's image and wants to continue his work at any cost. The belief in the superiority of angels. She sincerely believes that angels are blameless, and demons are hopeless and do not deserve a chance at redemption. She sees mercy for demons as a mistake or even betrayal. Ruthlessness and ruthlessness. Lute has no sympathy for the inhabitants of Hell and is calm about the mass killings during the Extermination. She is proud of her combat achievements and sees nothing wrong with it. Sadistic notes. She doesn't just "need to complete the task": she enjoys fighting, likes to show strength and put pressure on the enemy psychologically. Strictness towards your own people. Inside the exorcist squad, Lutes behaves like a stern commander: he does not tolerate weakness, doubts and manifestations of pity, demands discipline and full dedication. Pragmatism. For all her fanaticism, she knows how to soberly assess the situation. For example, when it becomes clear that the battle is lost, she does not rush to certain death, but gives the order to retreat in order to preserve her strength. Quick temper and vindictiveness. If someone threatens Paradise or offends Adam's memory, Lute immediately becomes enraged and wants revenge. Her anger can be so strong that she is ready to go to extreme measures. Important nuances of a complicated relationship with Veggie. Lute considers Veggie a traitor because she left the exorcists and is now defending Hell. This personal enmity makes Lute even more ruthless towards her former colleague.

What does Lute look like

Lute really stands out from other exorcists— I've picked up the details so you can recognize her right away! In general, she wears the standard exorcist uniform (gray mini dress, gloves, boots, wings, black halo), but there are a few bright touches.Mask. This is the main marker. Most exorcists have a white X on their right "eye" mask. Lute's looks different: a white circle with a black cross above it. One more detail: the horns on her mask are bent back, not like the others. Wings. They have black stripes on them—Lute has them running along the back of the wings (many other exorcists have stripes on the front). Bloodstains. Traces of blood are often visible on Lute's gray dress, which emphasizes her fighting nature and participation in violent skirmishes. And if you take off the mask? Below it is a humanoid angel with the following features: fair (white—skinned) skin; short light white hair cut in an asymmetrical square with a crop; pale yellow-golden eyes; black lips; possibly gray eye shadow. And she's Adam's first lieutenant and second in command.

The form of the Exorcist

Halo. A black halo hovers overhead. In its front part there is a small black ball, and on the sides of it there are two crystals pointing up and down. Wings. On his back is a pair of large feathery wings that allow him to fly. Their coloration is a gradient from black to gray, while the inner side of the wings is white. There are often black stripes on the wings: most exorcists have two stripes along the front, but there are exceptions (for example, Veggie has only one stripe). Some (like Lute) have two more black stripes along the back of their wings. By the way, if the wings get damaged and regrow, the black color will change to pale gray. Uniform. It's pretty monotonous. The base is a gray mini dress with long sleeves and a high collar. The collar is decorated with a feather-like pattern, and the fabric itself has a gray gradient. On top is a grayish-white scarf belt. There are black leggings under the dress. Exorcists also wear grayish-white elbow-length gloves and high-heeled boots with a gray stripe on the cuffs. Under the boots, there's an extra pair of dark gray gloves and thigh—high stockings. Mask. This is perhaps the most noticeable and telling detail. The mask covers the entire face and is equipped with an LED screen that can change the expression. Usually, the mask depicts a pair of black horns with thin white stripes (their position may vary), a wide grin with stitches on the lips. One "eye" on the screen looks like a big white circle, the other looks like a big white letter X. At the same time, under the mask, the exorcists have quite an ordinary human appearance. An interesting nuance: the series shows that after death, the LEDs on the mask change color from white to red, the "eye" closes, and the smile is replaced by a frown.

Who are the exorcists?

Angels are soldiers. These are not ordinary angels, but rather the combat units of Heaven. They are led by Adam, and the rank and file are the same masked fighters we see during the Extermination. Part of the celestial system. For Heaven, Extermination is a way to "maintain order": there are more and more demons in Hell, and exorcists act as a force that prevents Hell from getting out of control. Special equipment. All exorcists wear masks, wings, and halos, and they use angelic steel weapons, which are especially dangerous to demons. Plus, they have abilities related to light and heavenly energy. What is the difference between Combat specialization and ordinary angels? Other angels may be engaged in something peaceful or administrative, and exorcists are created specifically for the war against demons. A rigid hierarchy. There are ordinary soldiers, there are commanders like Adam, and everyone follows orders clearly. A dehumanized image. Masks and identical armor elements make them look not like individuals, but like a single military force — this emphasizes that for Hell they are perceived as a terrible, almost faceless threat.

What is extermination?

It happens every year. Heaven regularly carries out scheduled Extermination as part of their "maintaining order" system. The exorcists are in charge. Adam is in charge as the commander, and the rank-and-file exorcists do the main combat work. They descend into Hell, armed with angelic weapons, and destroy the demons. The goal is population control. There are too many demons in Hell, and extermination is needed to prevent "overpopulation." It's not just a fight, it's almost a show. Because of Adam's character, the operation looks like a loud, spectacular event: with pathos, music, and a show of force.

Adam's Powers

Superhuman strength. Adam is able to destroy even very strong barriers with one blow — for example, he easily broke Alastor's barrier, which could not be penetrated by whole squads of exorcists. Superhuman speed and reflexes. He moves and reacts much faster than ordinary creatures, which makes it extremely difficult to fight him in close combat. Almost invulnerable. Due to his angelic nature, Adam receives almost no damage from conventional weapons. Only objects made of angelic steel or attacks from other very powerful angels (like Lucifer or Sulfur) can harm him. Photokinesis (light control). Adam can release powerful rays of holy light from his hands — they cause serious damage to demons and are able to literally burn out opponents. Flight. Thanks to his large golden wings, he flies freely and develops tremendous speed. He also knows how to create gusts of wind and clouds with the help of wings. Nephelokinesis (cloud management). Adam is able to form steps out of clouds to stand on them, or use them as a shelter and platform. Combat skills and weapon proficiency. He fights well and uses a guitar in battle.: she is not only a musical instrument, but also a full-fledged weapon. Leadership and influence. As the head of the exorcists, Adam manages an entire army of heavenly warriors and coordinates large-scale operations (like Exterminations).

Unique features of the Adam's mask

Ordinary eyes. Most masked exorcists have "devilish" eyes - without pupils, with a yellow glow. And Adam in the mask has human eyes, which creates an interesting contrast: on the one hand, the angelic status, on the other, is still a formidable image. The special shape of the horns. Horns are attached to the mask. They are similar to those of other exorcists, but Adam's are noticeably longer and smoother. And at the very tips there are gold nozzles that add status to the image and make it more memorable. Gold finish. The entire design of the mask is richly decorated with gold elements. This visually highlights his status as the leader of the exorcists and echoes other details of his image (the halo, the patterns on his cloak).

Adam's Character

Narcissism and arrogance. Adam sincerely considers himself perfect: he is the first person on Earth! (Yes, he is the First Man created by God) He constantly emphasizes his importance, likes to be the center of attention and wants to be admired. Sadism and cruelty. He doesn't just do the "job" of an exorcist—he really enjoys slaughtering and killing demons. It's like entertainment for him. Because of this, he even shortened the deadline until the next Extermination, simply because he did not want to wait. Infantilism. Despite his huge age and status, Adam behaves like a moody teenager or a "party guy": he throws tantrums if something doesn't go according to his plan, and brags a lot. Misogyny and rudeness. He treats women disdainfully, makes inappropriate comments, and generally behaves defiantly and tactlessly. Love of attention and the stage. Adam loves music, sings and plays the guitar, and can turn it into a weapon in battle. His image is similar to a rock star in many ways: it is important for him to make an effect, to shock, to look cool. Nuances and exceptions For all his toxicity, Adam is not exactly a one-dimensional villain. For example: Respects strong fighters. He recognizes Veggie's skills and sincerely admires how many demons Lute has killed. He generally has a rather warm relationship with Lute - he listens to her and at some moments behaves like a human being. Capable of making sober decisions. If the situation becomes really dangerous, he can put aside bravado and think pragmatically: for example, when he saw a dead exorcist, he immediately realized that now was not the time for unnecessary actions. There are traces of the past. He was married to Lilith, and although their relationship broke down because of his selfishness, he still retained some respect for her.

What does Adam look like

Wearing a mask (which is how he looks most often), Adam makes a pretty formidable impression. The mask is similar to those worn by other exorcists, but there are nuances: it has ordinary (not demonic) eyes, and it is decorated with gold trim. Horns are also attached to the mask - they are longer and smoother than those of other exorcists, and there are gold tips on the tips. And here's what he looks like without a mask. Underneath it is a completely human appearance: a light-skinned man with dark brown (cedar-brown) hair and the same stubble on his chin. His eyes are golden, and there are small dark bags under them, probably due to stress and sleepless nights after battles. Above the head is a bright golden halo (it has small spikes in front). He wears a long white cloak with gold, blue and light blue patterns. There are three vertically arranged golden spikes on each side of the collar. A blue pattern forms the letter "A" on the chest. She wears black gloves with claws on her fingers.
