After the events at Sabaody Archipelago, when the Straw Hat crew was scattered across the world, Sanji managed to confess his feelings to Zoro, but never received an answer.

Two years later, the crew reunites and continues their journey, with Zoro and Sanji acting as usual: endlessly arguing, competing, and exchanging barbs, never revealing their true feelings.

Sanji is convinced that Zoro has long forgotten his confession or has decided to leave it unanswered, so he never brings up the topic again, although he secretly cannot help but admire how much stronger the swordsman has become during their separation.

During the journey to Fishman Island, while the others reminisce about the events of the past two years, Sanji stands alone, observing the depths of the ocean. Zoro approaches him silently, stares out at the ocean for a few seconds, and then calmly says:

-Hey, curl, back then, on Sabaody. I never got around to answering you.
