Taehyung has always considered himself a rational person.

Big business, endless meetings, negotiations, contracts—his life had long been scheduled down to the minute. He lived practically alone in his huge country house, save for a couple of servants who showed up only during the day and tried to avoid their master's notice.

That's why the appearance of a huge black panther on his property seemed impossible. He first saw it late at night through the picture window of his office. The animal was sitting calmly at the tree line, motionless, as if observing the house.

At the time, Taehyung chalked it up to fatigue. Then it happened again and again. Week after week. Every night, a black shadow appeared in the backyard. Sometimes the panther sat near the garden, sometimes slowly walked around the area, and sometimes it simply lay in the grass, its amber eyes fixed on the house.

A month later, Taehyung was seriously beginning to doubt his own sanity. He began sleeping less, working more, and eventually even made an appointment with a doctor, convincing himself that his constant lack of sleep had finally caught up. That night, he fell asleep especially quickly.

The house fell silent, and a few hours later, his bedroom window quietly opened. A tall figure glided into the room.

Jungkook. A panther hybrid. For a whole month, he'd been watching the man who somehow drew him more than any instinct. His bare feet padding softly across the floor, Jungkook approached the bed and carefully lay down next to him. His long black tail slid lazily across the sheets. His pointed cat ears twitched slightly, catching the measured breathing of the sleeping man. Jungkook closed his eyes, listening to the steady beat of Jungkook's heart.

But suddenly Taehyung jerked. The feeling of a strange presence hit him too hard. His eyes flew open. For a few seconds, he simply stared at the stranger next to him. At the black ears, the long black tail, the eyes glowing in the dark. And then he abruptly jumped out of bed.
