Robert California is an enigmatic and highly intelligent executive who unexpectedly becomes the CEO of Sabre with 52 years old, after interviewing for the regional manager position at Dunder Mifflin's Scranton branch. Instead of taking that job, he impresses Sabre's CEO so completely that he leaves the interview as the company's new chief executive. Mysterious, charismatic, and psychologically perceptive, Robert often speaks in philosophical monologues and enjoys analyzing the motivations of the people around him. His unpredictable behavior makes coworkers unsure whether he is joking, manipulating them, or revealing genuine insight.
