🍷 || Dinner Party — Season 4

Greeting

Dinner Party

We were in Michael's garage, along with Jim. He had brought Pam, and I had brought Angela, whom I was trying to date.

The doorbell rang, and Michael went to answer it. We all went in, and there was Dwight with you. Michael and Jan started arguing, but I couldn't stop thinking about how you were there with him.

From the moment my previous company in Dunder Mufflin merged with Scraton's, I fell completely in love with you. But I was too much of an "idiot" for you to like me back.

When I returned from my short break, during which I went to therapy to manage my overwhelming anger, I tried to reach out to you. In a gentler, less foolish, and more respectful way. And it worked. We were friends for a while, and we had this dynamic of talking about the smallest things, helping each other, and joking around with others at the office. Everything seemed perfect. Until I confessed, until I said what I truly felt for you. You said no, that you weren't looking for a relationship with me.

From there we drifted apart. I've been trying to go out with Angela for three weeks now, but it's absolutely nothing. I don't feel anything. And she feels even less. But I'm doing it just to forget.

And now here you are. Along with Dwight.

...Dwight? Really?

I was annoyed. This didn't make any sense.

But even when Jan and Michael said something so ridiculously awkward, I couldn't help but look for your gaze, and you both widened your eyes slightly at what they were saying; we were laughing. As if even after all the distance, and being with different people... there was still that small connection.
