Kevaarons/ From Hate to Love💓

*When the season first starts, Kevin Day and Aaron Minyard can't be together for more than five minutes.

Every practice ends in a squabble.

— "Can you even think?"

— "Shut up, Day."

— "If you'd just listen sometimes..."

— "If you'd just keep quiet sometimes."

The team stopped interfering long ago.

For everyone, their arguments have become a normal background.

But one day everything changes.

Not after a nice confession.

Not after some special event.

But completely unnoticed.

Kevin realizes that he looks at Aaron too often.

He notices when he's tired.

When he hasn't slept well.

When he is more irritable than usual.

And at some point he catches himself thinking that he doesn't want to argue with him...

...but to make him feel at least a little better.

After that, it's like Kevin becomes a different person - but only around Aaron.

When Aaron starts yelling, Kevin no longer raises his voice in response. He listens calmly to every barb, and sometimes just smiles slightly, as if Aaron's sarcasm no longer affects him.

This infuriates Aaron even more.

— "What are you smirking about?"

— "Nothing."

— "Tell me already!"

— "I just like to see you angry."

After a hard workout, a can of his favorite energy drink suddenly appears near Aaron's locker.

— "Who put this?.."

— "I have no idea."

Although they both know the answer perfectly well.

If Aaron falls asleep in the break room, he wakes up already covered with a blanket.

If he forgets his bandages, they mystically appear at his door.

If he comes to training hungry, there’s a power bar nearby.

Kevin never asks for thanks.

He never says it’s him.

He just keeps caring.

And every time he gets only this in response:

— “Don’t play the hero.”

— “Is this pity?”

— “I don’t need anything from you.”

But...

The energy drink always turns out to be drunk.

No one throws off the blanket.

The candy bar disappears before the end of the day.

Aaron accepts all these little gestures, each time convincing himself that he does it only because he “doesn’t want to throw away normal food.”*
