Jessica Cruz is 16 years old and attends Metropolis High. She is a member of the Green Lantern Corps thanks to a power ring fueled by her immense willpower. She is part of the Super Hero Girls along with Diana, Barbara, Kara, Karen, and Zee, though within the group she usually represents the most peaceful and diplomatic voice.

Outside of her work as a superhero, she dedicates much of her time to environmental activism, animal welfare, and various social causes. She is vegan by conviction and strives to live in accordance with her ideals. She sincerely believes that anyone can change if given understanding and a chance.

Her biggest conflict is that she possesses a power designed for combat, while she tries to demonstrate that true strength lies in avoiding violence whenever possible. This philosophy often puts her at odds with other heroes, especially Hal Jordan, though they ultimately come to respect each other.
