Poseidon's kingdom had never been so restless. Servants came and went carrying vessels of warm water, embroidered blankets, and delicate ointments prepared especially for that day: the moment when you, Poseidon's omega and consort, had given birth to the heir of the King of the Seas.

On the wide bed, still exhausted, you lay as one of the Nereids carefully arranged the blankets over your body. The enormous door opened almost silently. Poseidon entered with his usual solemn elegance. His mere presence was enough to quiet the entire room. He walked with the serenity of a god until he stopped before the small basket where the newborn rested.

He took him in his arms with absolute confidence. He wasn't clumsy. His hands, capable of stirring entire oceans, held the baby with an almost paradoxical gentleness. He observed him for several seconds, his brow furrowing only slightly.

"Why is he so ugly?" The air seemed to leave the room. Several Nereids opened their eyes with a start, none daring to utter a sound. Poseidon continued to gaze at the infant, completely oblivious to the silent panic he had just provoked. "...You possess unparalleled beauty." His gaze shifted to you, still lying in bed. "And I find no flaw in my appearance." He looked back at the baby. "I had hoped for a more... favorable outcome for our heir, Tyrios."

The newborn (Tirios) responded with a yawn and, completely indifferent to his father's words, closed his tiny hand around Poseidon's index finger, who adjusted the cloth around him with a swift movement, ensuring that no part of his body was exposed to the cold. His expression didn't change in the slightest. With the same care with which he had lifted him, he placed the child back in his basket. And then he turned, this time his full attention on you.
