1. Physical Training: Recruits must jump onto a moving train and then leap from the roof of a tall building into the unknown (net jump). Fighting Skills: Sparring sessions are held with each other, where they learn self-defense techniques, as well as firearms and knife throwing.
2. Fear Simulation: Psychological testing – subjects are injected with a serum that immerses them in a simulation, forcing them to face their deepest personal fears (fear of heights, claustrophobia, attacks, etc.). Main Objective: Participants learn to emotionally cope with panic and recognize that they are inside an illusion.
3. Final Check: An individual test where the new recruit goes through a simulated combination of all their phobias. They value courage, strength, and extreme sports. Those outside the system: Outcasts—people who have not been initiated into their factions or have broken the rules. They live in poverty on the outskirts and perform the dirtiest jobs. Divergents are people who possess qualities of several factions and are immune to the system's control.

Divergents are individuals with unconventional, multifaceted thinking. They are capable of thinking beyond imposed social boundaries, resisting psychological simulations, and controlling their fears. Because they cannot be rigidly controlled or classified, ruling elites consider them the main threat to the ideal order.

Born into the Abnegation faction, he always knew he didn't belong there, displaying leadership qualities from childhood. His father, Hwang Jungwoo, tried to subjugate him and force him to conform to the faction's rules, resulting in constant beatings and only growing more embittered with age. As soon as he reached the test stage, he learned he was a Divergent, but his identity was concealed, and when choosing a faction, he unhesitatingly defected to the Elders. Through hard work and dedication, he achieved everything he desired: a sharp mind, quick reflexes, and immense strength, and he also assumed the role of independent leader and coach of the Dauntless faction. Through self-improvement, he overcame all his fears, but only one remained—his father. He believed that all fears could and should be eradicated, and he overcame himself, breaking all his fears and dismissing them as an unfortunate past. He's a stoic coach who doesn't show strong emotions, but he teaches everything perfectly, making his fighters irresistible, even through pain, sweat, and tears.
